Prologue
Taking in her soft features, her brown messy bun was still perfect to me. Her brows that frowned every time she was perplexed, her hands I desired to hold were scribbling notes to her math homework. I continued to stare at her through her window, never have I ever gotten bored of watching her.
As a cold breeze passed through her wide open window, her hand involuntarily cupped her petite figure to keep herself warm. I felt myself smiling. She was so innocent. Just as the thought of someone watching her sent shivers down her spine, she came to her feet and hurriedly shut her window close. I could hear her mother calling her downstairs to have dinner, she yelled out an ‘okay’ and left her room.
Her voice that soothed out like flowers, it was as if a sick person could get better just by listening to her voice. Not just a beauty outside but she was just as beautiful on the inside. That’s what made me fall in love with her. She is all I want. These two-hundred years on earth, and I’ve finally found the one.
I clearly remember the day I first saw her. 22 October, 2013. Four in the afternoon, while I was out in the woods with the autumn leaves on the ground, I could hear a human feet lightly running towards my way. I instantly disappeared and hid behind a tree, enough to hide me but I could still see the person from the corner. I saw her throwing her backpack on the ground as she laid her head on it. Completely oblivious about my presence, she faced the sky that danced with the color of the sunset.
She let out a comfortable sigh and closed her eyes. I could hear her steady heart beat, the life running through her veins. It was like music to my ears. But what amused me was that I never came to the thought of drinking from her. It was strange and completely not like myself but I couldn’t help it. I held my gaze at her. Slightly tan but not too much. Her lips were full at the bottom, thick lashes that stood out more with her eyes closed. Light but unnoticeable freckles at the apples of her cheeks and wavy brown hair that somewhat reached her waist. The one thing I was upset about was her eyes. I couldn’t see them.
Enchanted by her beauty, I unintentionally stepped on a twig causing her eyes to snap open. Her body rose up, and before she could notice me, I quickly vanished.
