Preface
In this story, there will only be two POV’s. There are only two main characters, however, there will be three names shown on the chapter titles.
August, is the main male character
And Rosa, aka Rio, is the other main character.
Rosa/Rio is exploring their gender, they use she/her, he/him/his, and they/them/their pronouns. On their masculine days, they go by Rio. The chapter titles will be changed from Rosa to Rio during that time. Throughout this book, they will come to identify most with genderfluid.
This is taking place in the 2010’s, however, you do not need to worry about slurs or hate directed towards any of the characters, while there will be mention of conversion therapy, fear of not being accepted or being an adequate partner, and one of the side characters mentions getting kicked out for being lesbian, and it’s mentioned that another side character was sent to a Catholic boarding school for being bisexual there will be no on page hate. There is implication one of the MC’s went through trauma, but I don’t want to delve into it until their main story, this is their prequel.
