The Night Without The Stars
That night, there wasn't a single star in the sky. It was quiet and dark. My parents had gone to my aunt’s place, and I was all alone at home. I was reading a book when suddenly the door creaked. I froze.
Slowly, I placed my book on the bed and looked around for my phone . It was nowhere to be found. I stood in the middle of my room, thinking what to do. A low sound came from the living room. I strained my ears to catch it - a small shuffle of feet.
The sound was coming nearer and nearer and my heart was beating faster and faster. Suddenly, the sound stopped. I saw the doorknob of my door being turned. I stood with the stick in my hands, trembling. The door slowly opened -
And I found myself standing face to face with a girl who was about my age.
I was stunned.
