Summary

Growing up isn't just about getting taller; it’s about surviving the blinding fog of youth and the shadows of words meant to keep us small. This poetry collection explores the "blinding and frightening" experience of navigating hurt, hormones, and the search for safety. Through raw reflections on childhood innocence and the sting of old wounds, these poems serve as a reminder that you aren’t alone in your head. It is a journey of turning on the light, taking accountability, and finally learning how to live.

Lost In Youth

It’s easy to get caught up in life and feel like you’re worthless and can’t achieve anything. It happens to the best of us. Getting lost in your youth emotions caused by hormones can be one of the worst things to happen.

It’s blinding.

It’s frightening.

Finding a way to cope with how you feel encouraged, and I encourage you to explore all of the options. Mine is writing and listening to music. Finding something, reading something, or listening to something you can relate to, to then explore in creating what your given is one of the most therapeutic experiences. Being able to write a good poem, a good story, and a good song after seeing something that encouraged you is empowering, you feel like you can do so much more than what your mind limits.

Don’t get stuck in your head. Find something or someone you can relate to. In here, you can find something many different things to make you feel less alone about the ways you feel. It all changes as your getting older. Reflect, take accountability for things you’ve done incorrectly. Most of all, don’t forget to live.
