Prologue

The woman sighed brewing herself some tea in the scullery, and she kept feeling this fiery pit in her stomach. She could not digest food, yet alone drink except for warm tea. Its bone-chilling outside and the wind was playing its own tunes. Families gathered around a fire finding comfort.

She looked towards the fanlight and noticed a beautiful full moon covered in majestic gold. She had never seen a moon in her existence with that beautiful hue. To get a closer look she went outside, and the sand is dancing with the leaves, life from the trees being ripped from the roots, sounds of the horses in the stables nickering of the disturbance, and she was at a stand still looking at the moon. She did not feel any chills on her skin, nor did any object abused her, only warmth like the feeling she was home.

Unexpectedly she looked down and felt a chilling feeling running down her legs and realized her water broke. In response she went to get help but the closer she got to the gate; her contractions began to increase. Something in the air whispers “Stay outdoors” repeatedly. The only way to stop the pain was to stay where she was. “Stroll down to the Nile” and she listened to its command.

Hearing water nearby she went around the trees and sat down by the river trying to catch her breath.

“Madam are you alright?” The guard looked down in bewilderment until it dawned upon him “Madam we need to get you inside now!” trying to lift the goddess up.

“Please release me! I am in so much pain!” as she clutches her stomach.

“Madam you need a doctor.”

“It’s coming!” she panicked.

“I am going to find a doctor!” as the goddess nodded her head and he disappeared from her sight.

A presence of a shadow peaked behind the trees and the woman became alarmed. She tried to reach for any kind of weapon, but it was no use because when she turned her head back on the shadow it was right in front of her face. She screamed of despair when a man placed his hands over her lips.

“I didn’t think the child will be coming this soon.” The man spoken.

“Why did he not come?!” She yelled.

“You know he can’t.,” rubbing her cheek gently.

The pain intensified in her womb, and she laid down clutching her stomach. Tears of agony flowing down her pale cheeks. It felt like claws trying to pry its way out of her belly.

“I need you to push!” The man demanded.

The woman screamed and pushed multiple times and her child was not coming.

“PUSH!”

“I am trying. My baby is not coming out,” as she sobbed.

“If you don’t push, your baby will not live,” touching her forehead.

Taking a deep breath, she looked at the moon and the pain started to decrease. In that moment she took the opportunity to push with the strength that she has left not taking her sight off the moon. A cry broke out and she gazed at her baby boy, and he had a speck of gold in his eyes with claws that disappeared into mortal hands. She hesitantly looked at the moon and it was no longer gold but milky.

“We need to protect him,” as she cradled her child in her arms.

“Plans are in motion for this little one. He has a huge journey ahead of him.”
