Chapter Zero : Kanaria Island (ENG)
0.1 Kanaria Island: The Undiscovered Continent
Historians write that since the 15th century, the world was mapped with great curiosity, its every corner accounted for. Yet, a secret that evaded the gaze of the most modern satellite systems, the most sensitive naval radars, and the most capable explorers for six hundred years lay sleeping in the depths of the Indian Ocean, between the continents of Africa and Australia. This secret was named: The Kanaria Island.
Given its geographical location, its centuries-long undiscovery should have been impossible. But maritime legends always referred to the region as “The Misty Sentinel.” For every ship that approached the island, its compass would spin frantically, the weather would change with illogical speed, and modern navigation systems would perpetually show the island’s coordinates as merely empty sea. It was as if the island itself had erected an invisible, miraculous “Threshold” around it, pacifiying human curiosity and technology.
This isolation lasted until the late 22nd century, an era when humanity was already debating interstellar travel. The island’s discovery came as a profound shock to centuries of geographical arrogance. Kanarya was detected neither by satellite photography nor by routine naval patrol. Instead, it was accidentally revealed when an international scientific expedition, during a high- tech mission to map underground resources, tracked an illogical energy anomaly emanating from the ocean floor.
This energy scrambled all sensors. When the veil of secrecy was lifted, they were confronted not just with a geographical discovery, but with the survival miracle of a civilization whose destiny was sealed by war, catastrophe, and betrayal, yet had never been utterly destroyed.
And in those days, in the turbulent country where 15-year-old Wisterya was born and raised—a nation on the verge of total collapse due to corruption—everything was about to change. For The Kanaria’s Threshold had finally opened.
