VANI

In the heart of a sacred kingdom named Kashi, where golden sunlight kissed marble palaces and the air carried whispers of ancient traditions, where Mahakal—the eternal destroyer and protector—resided with his divine presence, a princess was raised not merely to rule a kingdom, but to rule countless hearts.

Her name was Princess Vani.

Her name was not chosen by chance.

Vani—a name that meant voice, wisdom, and divine expression. In ancient scriptures, Vani symbolized the power of words, purity of thought, and the courage to speak truth. It was believed that those who carried this name were destined to touch souls, not through authority, but through grace.

Princess Vani possessed long, curly black hair that flowed freely down her back, framing a face softened by calmness and kindness. Her presence was gentle, yet powerful. She preferred the elegance of traditional Rajputi poshak, wearing it not as royal obligation but as an extension of her identity and respect for her heritage.

Her heart held a rare compassion. Vani’s love for animals was pure and unconditional, as though the divine himself had entrusted her with the responsibility of caring for every innocent soul in her kingdom. In her quiet moments, she could often be found surrounded by them—feeding them, speaking softly, finding peace in their silent companionship. Among animals, she felt closest to herself.

That morning, she walked through the palace corridors dressed in a royal blue Rajputi poshak. Her silver anklets created a soft, rhythmic melody with every step, while her hip-length curls danced freely in the air, as if they belonged to the sky itself. There was beauty in her appearance, yet an even deeper serenity in her presence.

As dawn broke, Princess Vani prepared to visit the temple.

Within the palace stood a temple—small in size, yet vast in peace. It was a place where every living being was welcome. Birds perched fearlessly at the entrance, animals rested quietly within, and humans bowed in devotion. This temple was dedicated to Lord Shiva, the only god who accepted all souls without distinction.

When Vani’s voice rose in Shiva’s aarti, the atmosphere transformed. Her voice carried devotion so pure that it stilled every movement around her. Her pets sat silently, palace workers paused in reverence, and her parents stood with folded hands, hearts overwhelmed.

The priest of the temple, Bhairav, watched her with tear-filled eyes.

“You are truly blessed, my child,” he said gently.

“The way you sing the aarti of our Bholenath is divine. When tears flow during prayer, it means the Lord himself is present, and the soul can feel his touch.”

And in that sacred moment, as the temple echoed with devotion, it felt as though Mahadev himself was listening.

Princess Vani did not yet know that the voice she offered to the divine would soon be heard by destiny itself. She was unaware that her calm world was preparing for change—that her path, guided by faith and compassion, would soon intertwine with another soul chosen by fate.

And thus, her story began.
