This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, events, and incidents are either the products of the author’s imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.
SYNOPSIS:
Kevin Burke insists he never lied, only that he just didn’t volunteer information. Brooklyn Levine insists love without transparency is just a pretty illusion. Drawn together by emotion and undone by secrets, they find themselves questioning whether truth is about intention…or manipulation.
TRIGGER WARNINGS:
AAVE is used heavily in this story.
My characters swear A LOT.
There are themes of murder, suicide, and darkness.
There is SPICE.
Themes of trauma are expressed, but not in great detail to the point of discomfort.
Death of Families.
Some plot points are glossed over to be detailed in other books in this series. Keep that in mind before you proceed. To read this story is to understand that more than one thing can be true at the same time. I am not an activist, nor am I trying to have you side with me, the characters, or their actions. I’m simply telling a story. I am not my characters. My characters are not me. This. Is. A. Work. Of. Fiction.
We all have our different strokes. I get it. What’s triggering for me may not be triggering for you. But the warnings above are for you as the reader to take into consideration before you proceed to read.
Is this a standalone? YES!
