Chapter Prologue 1
Death wasn’t as silent as I had imagined.
It had a sound—the sound of betrayal. The breath of the man I loved, the weight of the sword, the cold determination in his eyes… He used me to become king. He erased me to become king.
Then came the darkness.
But fate was strangely stingy. It took everything—except my memories.
When I opened my eyes, this was the first thing I thought:
I am still here.
I recognized the ceiling. The stone walls. The heavy scent of incense in the air. This room… this body…
I walked to the mirror. The girl staring back at me was me.
And yet, she wasn’t. Because these eyes knew how a king was born—and the price it cost.
Time had turned back.
But this was no blessing.
It was a cold challenge fate had thrown at my feet.
In this life, I had only one rule: I would not make the same mistake again.
Whispers spread through the palace. There were two princes fighting for the throne.
One was loved by everyone—just, warm-smiled… the man who had killed me in my previous life.
The other was known as the “evil” prince.
Ambitious. Ruthless. Dangerous.
I understood why people feared him.
He didn’t hide that fear. He didn’t wear a mask.
And I would never again trust a kindness that needed one.
So I chose him.
