1: Cupid doesn’t think twice

And just like that, realization slapped Warisa to tell her that she was head over heels for the guy who was already in love with someone else.

Raunak was not only handsome and popular but kind too.

“That kindness is a mask.” Hima, Warisa’s best friend concluded wisely, “You don’t know because you are naïve. Handsome guys tend to be kind, it’s their tactics to get more attention.”

Her cold-blooded wisdom didn’t help extinguish the fire in Warisa’s heart that was lit by mistake.

“It’s okay,” Warisa said firmly, “I will just not acknowledge the fact.”

“What fact?”

“I won’t acknowledge the fact that I love him. If I keep on ignoring it myself, I will eventually fall out of love.” Warisa explained.

“Amazing.” Hima said ironically with a smile, “You are brilliant.”

“There’s no other way. I cannot unlove him.” Warisa reasoned desperately.

“Or you can just tell him?” Hima suggested.

“Tell what?”

“That you are in love with him.” Hima said as a matter of fact.

“Are you crazy? Isn’t that stupid?”

“No, you are crazy” Hima argued back, “And your ideas of dealing with the problems are beyond the galaxy. Won’t acknowledge it?” Hima said in disbelief, “Let’s see how far you can go.”

“Why are you getting heated up?” Warisa asked in confusion.

“Because of your logic.” Hima pointed out, poking Warisa’s forehead.

“My logic is fine,” Warisa argued back.

“Yeah, it’s the finest from the other end. If you are in love, say it and get rejected. If you can’t I will tell him.”

“You want me to be heartbroken?”

“A heartbroken Risa is easier to handle than a deep-in-love Risa. I get goosebumps the way you talk about Raunak.”

“How do I talk about him?”

“It’s like he is the only one.”

“He is the only guy I looked at on the day of admission and since then my mind got stuck to him.” Warisa explained desperately and then added miserably, “I can’t think of any other guy.” She shook her head, “I am cold-hearted by nature but once I fall in love, I can’t get out of it.”

“Why am I stuck with you?” Hima asked worriedly, “Was there a deficiency of people in the university that I had to get stuck with you?”

“I am friendlier than the others, that’s why, maybe.” Warisa analyzed thoughtfully.

“You just said you are cold.” Hima pointed out wryly.

“I am cold but I am friendly.” Warisa argued.

“See, this logic of yours. Gosh, you are so annoying.”

“Why are you getting angry anyway? I am not saying that I will break up with you.”

“I am not angry. I am trying to brace myself that I have to deal with you for the rest of my university life. It’s just the first semester and I am already so done with you.” Hima explained angrily.

“Ha! That was mean.” Warisa said in an astonished anger.

“You are mean to yourself. Who falls so deeply in love so fast?” Hima argued back.

“I didn’t fall on my own. Moreover, I am not deep in love.” Warisa denied.

“You are. You are just not realizing.”

Warisa slumped and muttered with a sad daze, “What’s the point of realizing it anyway?”

Hima exhaled and got up. “Okay, forget that. Come with me, let’s go have something from the canteen.”

“Don’t want to.” Warisa declined sadly.

“I will buy you a coke.” Hima coaxed.

Warisa stood up. “Which canteen are we going to?”
