Summary

In Westeen, power decides everything. From the moment you’re born, your abilities and status determine your rank, your future, and your worth. Blossoms rise. Thorns are tolerated. Vivianne enters Woodside Academy as an anomaly. At a school where strength is everything, Children of Destiny are impossible to miss, marked by unnatural traits and more than one ability. Vivianne’s silver hair makes her presence immediately known, just like the academy’s three top ranking students. Dorian. Bella. Kenton. All Blossoms. All powerful. All bearing the unmistakable signs of destiny. As the Sports Festival approaches, the academy begins to change. What was once a national spectacle becomes a brutal evaluation. Training intensifies. Rankings now determine early graduation and forced entry into the workforce. And in the midst of it all, Vivianne’s power starts to shift. Abilities she once controlled begin acting on their own. Heat lingers where it shouldn’t. Her emotions trigger reactions she cannot stop. The more pressure she faces, the more unstable she becomes, as if something vast is stirring beneath the surface, and the system seems disturbingly prepared for her unraveling. Forced into uneasy alliances with Blossoms, Vivianne must survive Woodside Academy to uncover why she was brought here, what her power is becoming, and how far she will go in a nation defined by Hierarchy.

The Heir's Shadow

caldwtd: A bit of sweet in a world of violence. I enjoyed this story, and angst of each character believing they should not have these feelings towards each other. I did struggle with her seeming to be a bad ass, but yet was always so negative about herself, her negativity was a bit too much for my liking, I...
