Do you know how many times tears have traveled down my face,
Like rivers downhill?
How horrid my skin is to the taste,
After silencing my own screams,
Served on a shattering plate?
Do you know how much it hurt,
How many times it killed,
To go to sleep and still wake up,
After consuming a pile of pills?
How it killed me more to open my eyes
And find that I could still breathe?
The will to live is merely a bird,
The more she flies - the more she sings.
The deeper she's caged, the less she's heard,
The less she's heard, the less she's real...
Do you know how many times l've slept,
Adjusting to the dark?
After grasping my own neck,
In hopes my death would be an art?
The key to all the wonders,
Safeguard by the sea, watching from the stars...
Drowning myself only tortured me, What killed me - was waking up.
