Chapter 1: Unity Woman

“Be strong enough, to be gentle.”

Our story begins within the mighty Great Wheel, in the matieral plane, on the planet of Toril; homeworld of adventure and change. In the city of Baulder’s Gate, a villianous plot was coming to its fullest curition. A vile and malcious wizard known as Markum Figmore was getting ready to summon a army of the undead to help him in taking over the city and becoming the new sole ruler of the kingdom. Meanwhile, a small party of warriors would be making they’re way towards him. A noble orc paladin, a human cleric and a elven archer.

As they approached the main cathedral where the ritual for this summoning was taking place, the cleric would stop for a moment and put her hands together. The orc would look back at her for a moment while the archer would go to the cathedral doors to see about opening them.

“What are you doing?!” asked the orc as he ran towards the cleric woman. “WE DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!” shouted the elven archer.

The orc got to her and put a hand on her shoulder, the cleric woman was praying. The orc couldn’t quite understand what she was saying, but could hear her mumbbeling a prayer. “I GOT THE DOORS OPEN! LETS GO!” shouted the elven archer as he rushed inside.

“Come on now.” said the orc as he pulled the cleric woman with him into the cathedral. As they entered inside, it was there they’d see him. The necromancer Markum Figmore. With a powerful grimore in his hands he’d look out to the all with a small cackle.

“HA! YOUR TOO LATE!” shouted Markum, “NO! IT CAN’T BE!” shouted the elven archer as he got out his bow.

“It is just as I’ve said. With the planets aligned and the moon soon about to reach it’s apex. I will soon have all the necassary ingredients to raise my undead army and soon I will be the sole ruler of Baulder’s Gate!” said Markum as he then raised up his hand and with a quick wave of his hand, skeletons, a zombie beholder and even a minotaur would come bursting from the stone ground.

The orc, the archer and the cleric would all look around as many zombies and undead skeletons would begin to rise and surround them. Others who also were getting ready to join the fight would also see zombies and skeletons rising from around the cathedral outside. The city guards and soldiers looked on in horror at what was happening.

“Damnit all! Is there no one who can stop this maddness!?” shouted one of the city guardsmen as he unsheated his shortsword and rallied some of the other guards with him. The people of Baulder’s Gate began to run and flee the site of the chaos. As they did-

ZOOM!

ZOOM!

The sound of an incredibly fast gust of wind zooming through the air would ring out in everyone’s ears. People would look to see as clouds were parted and disspered quickly.

“What is it?” people asked

“Who is it?” they asked.

inside the cathedral, the trio would be fighting till they’re last breath. The Orc paladin would clash with the zombie Minotaur. They’re weapons making sparks fly left and right, while the elven archer did his best to shoot down each undead that they could, but the numbers kept coming. And the cleric woman couldn’t heal her allies quick enough.

“Oh no...” said the cleric woman, tears rushing down her face. The end was soon to come. And while Markum would laugh as his powers began to grow and become stronger than ever-

A loud thud would be heard outside the main doors, Markum and the advetuers would look to the main doors and see them burst open. They’d all look to see a woman, standing in the doorway. Blue eyes staring at them all, her curly blonde hair and blue and white attire. Brown boots and the most iconic thing of all, a long red cape.

“who in the hell is that?” thought the orc.

“A woman?” thought the elven archer.

“Could she be a bard? Her garbs kinda seem to elude to that.” thought the female cleric.

Markum would look at the woman with a unammused glare. As he did, some of his undead forces would begin to make they’re towards the cathedral. “Just who in the nine hells are you suppoused to be?” asked Markum.

“I am, Unity Woman. And I’ve come here to ask you to surrender.” the woman said. Everyone looked at her with confused stares, until Markum burst into laughter.

“You can’t be serious, look around you! I have a army of the undead, zombies and skeletons that have enough fire power to level a army. Just what in Toril, do you think your going to do?” asked Markum.

“...Ask you to surrender.” Unity Woman said. Markum just scoffed as he then snapped his hand, and like a dog, the skeletal minotaur would brush past the injured orc and stand infront of Unity Woman. She and the creature both looked at one another, the undead minotaur would bring up its massive hammer and slam it ontop of Unity Woman. Markum snickering as he watched, only for his face to then be filled with dread as he saw the unimaginable-

The minotaur’s hammer shattered on impact with Unity Woman’s head, the other adventuerers all looked in astonishment as well. She sighed as she then would reel her right arm back anc close her fist. “Guess we’re doing this the hard way.” Unity Woman said as she then would send her fist flying right at the minotaur’s chest, and upon impact it’s chest would get blown out. It sounded like an explosion. Everyone watched as the minotaur’s body would fall to pieces after the attack. Markum would look in shock before then sending his forces towards Unity Woman.

“GO NOW!!! BRING HER DOWN!!!” he shouted. “Cover her!” shouted the orc.

“Its okay. Just get somewhere safe.” Unity Woman said as she got ready, to everyone else, to sprint forward. “What are you talking about?! Theres several dozen of-”

before the orc could finish, the Unity Woman would then boost off the ground, flying through the air and barreling through the undead forces ahead. The orc, elven archer and cleric woman all looked in shock. “I...I guess we can fallback.” said the orc as he began to back away, with the archer and cleric woman following close behind him. Unity Woman would fly through a horde of the undead forces, picking up one of the skeletons in the group, spinning around like a bottle top, and then flinging him at some skeletal archers on a high-rise in the cathedral. Markum looked around in anguish as he watched his forces being brought down, one by one.

“N-N-NO!!!” He shouted, he then turned his head towards Unity Woman, who was using the zombie beholder as a large wrecking ball. Slamning it into dozens of undead. It wouldn’t be long before there was nothing but bone and bone pieces littering the ground. “THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING!!! I WAS DESTINED FOR THIS! ME! I CAN’T LOSE HERE!” Markum shouted as he then got ready to fire off a spell towards Unity Woman.

“I don’t think so!” She said as she then flung zombie beholder at Markum, knocking him off the high-stand he was on and onto his back. He groaned in pain as some pieces of rubble fell around him. Unity Woman would hover close to the ceiling, looking down at him before she then would drop to the ground. The city guards would then arrive on the scene and see her drop to the ground. They’d also look in astonishment at Unity Woman and the destruction she had left behind of the undead fleet.

“By Mystra’s name.” said one of the guards.

“Who are you?” asked another guard, she’d turn her head to them. “Take care of your wounded, make sure everyone thats left Baulder’s Gate its safe to return.” said Unity Woman.

“But, why? Why do this?” asked the guard. “Because its the right thing to do.” she replied before then walking ahead. The guards looked to one another and then made they’re way out of the church. Unity Woman would look around for a moment before then looking to see Markum leaning against a pillar, his eyes would then meet with her.

“YOU! DISINTERGRATE!” Markum shouted as he then fired a necrotic spell at Unity Woman, the green beam shining in her eyes as it hit. A brief green flash would light up the place before then stopping. Markum would cough and groan as he looked to see ahead of him the unimgainable. Unity Woman, completly unscathed. “Th-Thats not possible.” Markum said, thats when he’d notice something was missing.

“MY GRIMORE!” He shouted as he then looked over to the ground to see it, it was glowing for a moment before then stopping. “NO! THE ALIGMENT OF THE REALMS! DAMN YOU, DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’VE DONE!?” Markum shouted.

“Its over, now hand yourself over to the authorities and you may just be spared.” Unity Woman said. “You’d...just let me go to prison? After everything I’ve done?” asked Markum, to which Unity Woman would nod.

“I believe in second chances. I know that this isn’t who you want to be. I know there are times when things seem hopeless, that there isn’t any other option than the road in front of you, but thats not true. Theres always a chance for everyone to do the right thing; even when things look grimm. However, you’ve hurt a lot of people and that needs to be paid for. So please, turn yourself in.” Unity Woman said.

“Wow, don’t you just sound like a dream come true. Whats your secret?” Markum asked. “Good manners and a early start to the day.” Unity Woman said.

“You think your being coy?!” Shouted Markum in frustration.

“No, just honest. Now, about turning yourself in.” Unity Woman said.

“And if I don’t?” asked Markum. Unity Woman would look back to the room of destoryed undead and then looked back to Markum. Markum would groan as he then put his hands out. The guards of Baulder’s Gate would be getting people funneled back into Baulder’s Gate when suddenly Markum would be dropped at they’re feet. The guards looked once more in shock before then seeing Unity Woman flying away in the distance.

“Just who the hell was she?” asked one guard. “Does it matter? She just saved the city. And for me-”

“Thats enough.” said another guard.
