Chapter 1: Vegan Restaurant Setting

When we last left our heroes – Beckett Kai’s body was overtaken by the persona of Buck Hammerlocke a 90’s video game character. Originally Beckett’s professor – Dean Longstreet and his assistant – Dev Madan wanted to turn Beckett into a Trotskyite radical which Dean was trying to compete with his former political rival Colonel Rex MacManners. In an odd twist of events – Buck gets Beckett a date with Sora Son, a hotel clerk and who shows up at the restaurant but none other than Beckett’s crush – Linda Blantley and her date Gabriel David – it’s one heck of a mess that Beckett will have to get out of it himself.

“Can’t believe this menu, no meat” said Buck.

“It’s supposed to be no meat silly” laughed Sora, “remember it’s a vegan place.”

Scarlet Powers, Dev’s girlfriend didn’t like this double date at all. She detested every bit of it sensing that Buck/Beckett was nothing more than an arrogant alpha male.

“I don’t believe you, taking me out on a date with this brain dead loser” whispered Scarlet.

“We have to be polite” sighed Dev.

Dev did his best trying to calm down his girl, but he knew it wasn’t going to be easy. As for Colonel Rex, he sat at the bar area hoping to calm things down. The colonel ordered one glass and took a sip of it. He already could tell it was a big disaster for all sides. He checked out Linda and her date Gabriel, the French-Canadian.

“Everything okay sir?” asked the bar tender.

“Yep, just fine it’s like watching a nature show” laughed Colonel Rex.

The colonel wasn’t shying away from his terminology on what he was witnessing. He could see that Buck, still in charge of Beckett’s body could blow everything up even without using any sort of weapons – just your typical alpha male body language would be enough. Beckett sighed in defeat inside of his own mind on what to do next.

“Sora looks like a better person than Linda” said Buck as he turned over towards Beckett, “you should understand there’s always somebody better in the sea of fish.”

Beckett still had unresolved feelings for Linda, he did his very best trying to maintain his own sanity.

“Look, Sora just likes the mask” said Beckett, “she doesn’t like the actual person being myself.”

“Yea, I know that” said Buck, “but until we figure out what to do in the real world, there’s no way for that to ever happen.”

Beckett gasped at Buck’s wise words – he was right – there was nothing he could really do at all. Beckett continued to remain fractured inside of his own mind. As for the colonel, he could see that Linda was hesitant around Beckett’s new body. It was rather intimidating to see Beckett out with another girl who actually liked his new body. She did her best trying to stay focus on Gabriel instead of Beckett.

“That Beckett fellow is rather strange” remarked Gabriel.

Even Gabriel thought it was so very odd and awkward of Beckett to just wave at them just like that the moment they arrived at the vegan restaurant. It was going to be a disaster for sure.
