Chapter 1: SILVER BAY HAS TWO SIDES
Silver Bay looked peaceful from far away.
Blue water. White boats. Big houses sitting on cliffs like they owned the ocean.
But everyone who lived there knew the truth.
Silver Bay had two sides.
On one side was Cliffside—clean streets, shiny cars, kids who never worried about money. On the other was Harbor Row, where paint peeled, bills piled up, and dreams felt heavier than the air.
That morning, Kai stood barefoot on the dock, staring at the water. His shoes were worn out, his hoodie too thin for the wind, but he didn’t care. The ocean was the only place where things felt quiet.
“Bro, if you fall in, I’m not saving you,” Milo said, laughing as he balanced on a broken crate.
Kai smirked. “You can’t even swim straight.”
Ari sat nearby, sketching in a notebook, eyes sharp and silent like she noticed things no one else did.
They were the Harbor Kids. Not by choice—by birth.
A loud engine cut through the calm.
Kai looked up.
A black speedboat slowed near the dock. On it stood Lena, sunglasses on, hair perfect, Silver Bay royalty written all over her. She didn’t belong here—and everyone knew it.
Milo whistled. “Well… this just got interesting.”
Lena removed her sunglasses, her eyes scanning the dock nervously, like she was afraid someone would see her.
“Kai,” she said quietly. “I need to talk to you.”
Kai crossed his arms. “About what?”
She hesitated. For a second, the confident Cliffside girl disappeared.
“Something happened last night,” she said. “And if I’m right… Silver Bay is about to explode.”
The wind picked up. The ocean crashed harder against the dock.
Kai felt it then—that feeling in his chest.
Whatever Lena brought with her wasn’t just trouble.
It was the kind of secret that changed everything.
And once secrets surfaced in Silver Bay, no one stayed safe.
