Summary

Thayu is learning how to carry silence. At home. At school. In the spaces where childhood should have been louder. Then there's Malik-easy laughter, steady presence, a warmth that arrives without asking. Marked by small things. Shared moments. Familiar corners. A sweetness in the air that lingers longer than it should. What begins quietly grows in the margins: walks that stretch too long, half-finished sketches, moments that almost happen, feelings without names. Around them, the world watches. Friends linger. Expectations hum. The future presses closer than either of them is ready for. My Banana Bubblegum is a slow-burn romance about closeness before confession, the ache of almost, and how some connections don't arrive loudly-they settle in, and stay.

Author's Note

Hey love,

I’m so glad you found your way here. For the next couple months, you’ll meet them, quietly, slowly. A glance, a pause, a word unsaid. They’ve been waiting, and now they’re yours to follow, to notice, to hold close for a little while each day.

There’s no rush. No loud declarations. Just the brush of something tender. The small tremors of wanting that creep in when you least expect it. Let yourself linger, allow it to catch in your chest and make you ache in the best possible way.

I’ll be here too, quietly alongside you. And maybe, if we lean in close enough, by the end, we’ll all feel a little braver and more alive for having let this quiet flame settle in our hands.

BlackKat07: Loved the characters and plot. Unfortunately after about chapter 10 the book really needs a good proof-read - lots of spelling and grammatical errors that spoiled it for me. Up till then I was happy to correct the occasional one, but after that I just lost interest when there were up to three in a...
