I'M NOT CLARISE
Police found my sister Clarise after two days.
She was buried inside a cavity beneath the driveway, wearing a red dress with her hair done.
Mom said the last time she ever heard her voice, it was while she screamed my name.
After the funeral everyone else had drinks and snacks while I wandered the still, red-carpeted halls.
My eyes went wide.
She was standing in front of me, presented exactly as they’d buried her.
“Clarise!” I screamed, running to embrace her.
My arms passed through her, like wind in grass.
She shoved me away, face expressionless.
“I’m not Clarise.”

Oh wow... that was chilling. The opening was so calm and matter-of-fact, which made the reveal even more horrifying. The image of her standing there exactly as she was buried and then saying “I’m not Clarise” gave me actual goosebumps. Such a strong, eerie hook — I need to know what she is and what really happened. 🖤👀
