1-New Year

*The new year had begun, and the children who had graduated from the second grade had now moved on to the third grade. Of course, these grades were graded according to magical abilities, not age.* Professor Greymarrow raised his voice, “Welcome, children! A new year, a new school year, and we have another teacher joining us!” His voice lowered, as if he were uneasy about this new teacher. “Octavia Bloodworth, she is the inspector dedicated to our school this year—” Before Professor Grey could finish his sentence, Mrs. Bloodworth practically pushed Professor Grey aside from the podium and began to speak, “and we, as the Ministry, have been contributing to this beautiful school for years. It is our duty to contribute to some things in the old order.” *Clara leaned over and whispered to John, “What is she trying to say?” Georgie also leaned over, “Exactly, I think she’s trying to say something.“* *He was frantically eating a piece of meat he had picked up.* John said, “She’s saying the Ministry will interfere with Eldraven...” Clara secretly pointed her wand into the air. John slowly asked, “What are you trying to do?” Clara’s voice was filled with surprise. She whispered the spell, “Maximum Praesidium.” As she whispered it, a white ball of light quickly struck the ceiling and vanished. Bloodworth asked, “Who did that, children?” There was no response from the children. “It’s unimportant. However, if you do it again, I will punish you.” Professor Grey quickly said, “No.” Bloodworth was surprised. “Questioning me is questioning the Ministry, even the Minister.” Professor Grey said, “That’s right, I was there when the rules were written. But giving punishment is solely the presiding officer’s prerogative!” Bloodworth said, “We’ll see...” He chuckled and went to the teachers’ table. -
