Prologue
Hope stepped into her father’s penthouse like a trespasser in her own bloodline.
She hadn’t come seeking affection. She hadn’t come seeking answers.
She had come for a diary—ink, paper, memories. The only thing Lucian hadn’t already taken from her.
She no longer lived here. She lived with her cousins and her mother’s relatives—the people who loved her despite her existence. Lucian never had. He had perfected the art of erasing her. No calls. No visits. No acknowledgment. To him, Hope was not a daughter—she was a mistake that breathed.
She moved fast, heart hammering, fingers curling around the diary at last.
Leave. Before he knows.
But the universe never let her leave unharmed.
Her eyes drifted toward a half-open door.
Lucian’s room.
Inside, glowing softly in a glass jar, lay a feather—large, silver-gold-blue, radiant with lingering magic. It shimmered like it still remembered how to fly.
Hope froze.
Her chest tightened painfully. The air felt heavier.
She didn’t need to be told whose it was.
Angela.
Her mother.
The woman she was never allowed to love. Never allowed to mourn. Never allowed to ask about—because everyone had decided the truth for her.
You killed her.
Her vision blurred. Tears threatened, unwanted and humiliating.
Then—
“How long are you planning to steal my air as well?”
Lucian’s voice sliced through the room like a blade.
Hope turned.
He stood there, glowing with rage, power rolling off him in violent waves. His eyes burned—not with grief, but with hatred. The kind that had learned to live comfortably inside him.
“So you still sneak around like a rat,” he sneered.
“Can’t even enter a house without permission. Just like your existence—unwanted.”
She flinched.
He noticed.
He smiled cruelly.
“You think you belong here?” he continued. “This was her home. Not yours. You’re nothing but the consequence of her ruin.”
His gaze flicked to the jar.
“How dare you look at her feather?” he snapped.
“You don’t get to touch what’s divine. You don’t get to breathe in the same room as her memory.”
Hope stayed silent—like she always did.
But something inside her cracked.
Her hands moved.
Why am I blamed for her death when I wasn’t even born?
Why did you hate me before you even knew me?
Why am I punished for loving a mother I never got to meet?
Lucian’s expression twisted—not in guilt, but in disgust.
He stepped closer.
Each step made the floor tremble.
“You understand nothing,” he hissed. “You took her from me the moment you drew your first breath.”
His fists clenched, red-black smoke curling violently around them.
“You want answers?” he mocked.
“Earn them.”
His lips curved into something cruel.
“Bring her back.”
Hope’s breath hitched.
“You can’t,” he continued coldly. “Because you’re weak. Small. Human. A failure wrapped in flesh.”
He leaned down to her level, voice dripping venom.
“You’re not my daughter. You’re a reminder. A disease. And I regret every second you’re still alive.”
Hope’s knees trembled.
Lucian straightened, impatience flashing in his eyes.
“Leave,” he ordered.
“Before I break that fragile neck… or toss you into hell where even your screams would be too pathetic to echo.”
And then—
He didn’t wait.
Power exploded from him, violent and merciless, flinging Hope through the window like discarded trash.
The world spun. Pain ripped through her body. Darkness clawed at her vision.
As consciousness slipped away, tears finally fell—not from weakness, but from fury.
I will bring her back.
Even if it meant tearing the heavens apart.
Even if it meant defying gods, fate, and Lucian himself.
Even if the universe demanded her life in return.
She would pay that price.
It's finally happening
Due to heavy response and lots of love I received I decided to skip the book which I kept in draft and launch this one which I thought of not releasing as I didn't received any response and feedback from past few month. I thought maybe I'm not good with this particular genre so i was thinking of writing about fictional book which had some mafia stuffs but now I'm keeping that in hold because in this month god helped me so much through this all and you guys loved supported and gave so much love to "The Curse of Her and Blood"....that even I couldn't have imagined it. I'm literally seeing people supporting and adding my work in their reading list and library it helps alot to those who write. That I've decided to keep the book which I was working and about to release on hold and to start with- HOPE'S DETERMINATION.
I'll Release the other fictional book later on.
Until then..
Hope you all enjoy it and keep loving it and supporting it the way you did my other work.
Will surely update every twice a week sometime I'll give more than two updates so stay tuned.
Loveyaaa loads,
❤️✨
