The ground beneath us

"Honestly kind of lost at words. I didn't know what I expected when I started this, but as it slowly developed, building the world step by step, chapter by chapter, it felt just right. It made me feel hopeful, whole, like a story I should have read a long time ago but I never got the chance to till now and the timing was perfect. A story about loss, control, quiet defiance, steadiness, sacrifices and most importantly about moving on. Despite the fear, the uncertainty, just like Nature, we have to keep moving forward, growing, teaching, failing and trying again. Never staying still, never stagnant, always moving because the world doesn't always stop. We are all pieces of a puzzle, as this story also shows, meant for a lot, capable of peace and calm, but like Roth, those in charge, those with power, those with influence, greed and the like, want to stay in control by all means possible. But sometimes... Even a single drop can cause a ripple, like Jayla, that can change everything. "

Very Different But VERY Good

"Roth reminds me of discrimination, fear of the unknown, blind hatred as well as a control freak. Never could stand controlling men. Jayla was hope personified. Kian was steady and loyal. The Elders started as controlling, but learned that control is an illusion. Kellen was the catalyst for Jayla and the others to make a stand and bring about change for the good. Now mind you, what I've written here are my feelings and opinions. Either way, this book was very good, and I most definitely recommend that it be read. Thank you author for a memorable read "

The Ground Beneath Us

"It is a refreshing novel of a dystopian future. From a select few running underground bunkers to those that are in sync with the earth by blood. I am surprised that there was very little violence in the story. But the author is very imaginative, which carried the story well. The generational ties of family were a nice touch. This book is another gem with a unique story. Thanks for the read."
