Chapter 1: The Mansion's Mourning

The Mansion’s Mourning

The sun had barely risen over the stunning horizon when Detective Brent Walker approached the grand old mansion - an imposing classic, standing stately despite its obvious aging. It was disquietingly silent, the normal chatter of the staff drowned out by grief and apprehension. The estate was in mourning - its mistress, Evelyn Thatcher, found dead under circumstances as perplexing as they were unnerving.

The grandeur and opulence of the mansion bore a stark contrast to the panic that had ensued. Walking through the hallowed halls, Walker couldn’t help but notice the unease etched in the faces of the mansion’s staff. It was as if the mansion had become haunted overnight, with the shadow of Evelyn’s untimely demise looming large.

Reaching the room where Evelyn was found, Walker took a deep breath, schooling his professional detachment in place. The room was eerily pristine - too pristine. The wealthy heiress lay there on the floor, lifeless, painting a profoundly disturbing picture in stark contrast to the grand elegance of her chamber. A single red rose with its thorns still attached lay next to Evelyn - a cruel symbol of beauty and pain intertwined.

As he absorbed the scene, Walker realized that this case was going to be anything but straightforward. He knew then that this mansion was ready to show him all its grim shadows, whispering the truths that lay beneath its opulent exterior. But was he ready to face the tangle of lies, deceit, and darkness he would uncover?

Only time would tell. As the sun began to rise higher, casting long, eerie shadows in the mansion, Walker embarked on his pursuit of justice, stepping into a web of intrigue that would change his life.

Roxx@n: It was longer, it was a really good read. I enjoyed it a lot. Wanted to see if Carlos became a great dad and he Grayson his friend out loud. He's rather closed off so a lil broader back story would be nice. And yes the wedding and twins announcement. A girl can hope right?
