Episode 1: Ruler: Part 1
October 6th, 2027
Nexus Gates
James, Jonathan, Andrew, Frank and Emma are sitting in separate cells.
James is wearing handcuffs that injects liquid iron into his blood stream, which hits harder and is more effective than iron gas. It injects 10 milliliters of liquid iron into his bloodstream every minute.
Jonathan’s handcuffs are made out of Blue-Navorum and his cell is also laced with Blue-Navorum.
Andrew has 2 sets of handcuffs on, each with 2 locks, to ensure he’s kept in. His cell also has two locks.
Frank is wearing handcuffs that injects rain-like water into his bloodstream. Just like James, it injects 10 milliliters every minute.
Emma is wearing two sets of handcuffs with 3 locks on one, and 2 locks on the other.
“Hey, guys?” Jonathan asks.
“Yeah?” James asks.
“What’s up?” Frank and Andrew ask in unison.
“I, uh… I missed my birthday again,” Jonathan says. “In here. It’s been 4 months. I turned 17 a few weeks ago. Which was also last month.”“How do you know?” Emma asks.
“I’ve been counting,” Jonathan says. “The Lightning God comes down here once everyday. A week, then a month, then 2 and 3, and now 4. I’ve actually missed my past two birthdays while on this team.”“Really?” James asks.
“Yeah,” Jonathan says. “I missed my 16th birthday when we were locked up in Void’s prison last year. Or, I guess Xyren’s. And now, we’re in our own prison, and I missed my 17th birthday.”
“I’m sorry,” James says.
“It’s not your fault,” Jonathan says.
“But it is,” James says. “If I never recruited you, you never would’ve never gone through all this. You’ve been injured many times. Hell, you’ve died on this team. You wouldn’t have missed your birthdays, you wouldn’t have been killed or hurt. You’d be with your parents.”
“Wanna know what else happened on this team, James?” Jonathan asks. “I became The Blur. Then The Amazing-Man. That’s… That’s pretty amazing. I found out officially that I’m an alien. Without this team, Xyren or The Sentinel would’ve killed me.”
“Which did happen,” James says. “You did die.”
“Not permanently,” Jonathan says. “You’re the reason I’m back.”
“I’m also the reason you died in the first place!” James yells. “I was stupid to let a kid fight an alien army!”
“But I am an alien,” Jonathan says. “What difference-”
“The difference,” James says. “The difference is that you’re just a kid. And you’re still vulnerable against your own.”
“My point is,” Jonathan says. “Without you, I’d be dead still. Permanently. I would have nobody to back me up when I’m angry. And when I learned my laser-vision power, maybe nobody would’ve been there to help me when I passed out. I would’ve gone through that black hole last year and never came out. You’re the reason I’m alive. I’m grateful for that. I will admit, I would’ve loved to spend my birthdays with my parents. But I wouldn’t have been able to if I was dead, now would I?”
“The kid’s got a point,” Frank says.
“Yeah,” Andrew says.
“They’re right,” Emma says.
“James,” Jonathan says. “You’re my hero. I would’ve done anything to meet you before you recruited me. I mean, why do you think I saved you in the first place when the Double J’s captured you? I wanted to meet you. I-I just… I never thought that you’d come to me, and share your secret identity, or let alone recruit me. I’m happy that I got that opportunity.”
In the planning room, the team is there, not in their suits. Suddenly, The Lightning God speeds in.
“Oh my God,” Emma says, startled.
“It’s oh my Lightning God to you,” The Lightning God replies.
“Shut. The hell. Up,” James says.
“Or what?” The Lightning God asks. “I’m a God! It’s in the name! You can’t stop me. None of you can.”“Yes, we can,” Jonathan and Frank say in unison.
“I’d like to see you try,” The Lightning God says, chuckling maniacally.
James shoots a lightning-bolt at him, but The Lightning God shoots one back, evening out the power.
Andrew presses his suit-cube against his chest and his nano-tech suit engulfs him. He then shoots soundwaves at The Lightning God, but The Lightning God shoots lightning at the soundwaves, evening out the power, and stopping the sound.
Frank shoots rainbow-lasers from his eyes at The Lightning God, but the lightning-armor blocks it.
Jonathan shoots lasers from his eyes as well, but the lightning-armor also blocks that.
Emma backs away, knowing there’s nothing she can do.
The Lightning God shoots lightning from his eyes at Frank, sending him back and knocking him out.
He then intensifies the power on his lightning-blast in his right hand, knocking out Andrew.
He then lasers Jonathan in the chest, causing great agony on him. Then, Jonathan collapses, unconscious.
He then shoots lightning from his eyes at Emma, but James throws his free arm up, and generates lightning armor on his arm, blocking the lightning beams. Then, The Lightning God shoots a lightning bolt at her, under James’ arm, knocking her out.
The Lightning God then speeds behind James and lightning-punches the back of his head knocking him out as well.
“You can’t defeat me,” The Lightning God says. “You never will.” He laughs maniacally.

Nexus Gates
“Hey, James?” Frank asks.
“Yeah?” James replies.
“That monster that you saw in the future,” Frank says. “What did it look like? Or sound like? Do you know its name?”
“What did it look like?” James repeats. “Scary. It had this creepy face, and it wore a mask, like mine. And a suit. It was black, with red glowing accent lines. What did it sound like? It growled, scowled, and screeched. It’s a speedster. Red lightning, like The Lightning God’s. Its name? I don’t know. But, uh… you weren’t there, Frank. It’s like you vanished. I saw the ending, though. I almost saw how I defeated it. Almost. I saw a cape stabbed into a pillar. I think it was Jon’s. I saw daggers scattered around, pretty sure Emma’s. I also saw arrows, which I don’t know where that came from. I also saw gauntlets. I think they were Andrews. Me? I was sitting in the center of Central Park. My legs were crossed, and my hands were on my knees. My eyes were closed, then I vanished. Into thin air, with the monster standing right where I was. It didn’t kill me. It actually looked like the monster had no idea what happened, as if I… Oh my God, I think I know I did.”
“What?” Jonathan asks. “W-what’d you do?”
“I-” James starts, but then The Lightning God speeds in.
“Daily check up,” The Lightning God says.
“Like you care,” Frank says.
“I do,” The Lightning God asks. “I mean, come on… Who else am I supposed to show-off to? Besides, I did single-handedly defeat you all.”
“And I was the last one standing,” James says.
“Without them, you’d-” The Lightning God starts, but James cuts him off.
“If I was the only one,” James says. “Then that means I’d still be the last one standing, as nobody could’ve been standing after me.”
“Well- I-I,” The Lightning God stammers. “Just shut up!”
“Aw, are you angry?” Emma asks in a baby voice. But then The Lightning God speeds to her cell and grabs her by the throat.
“You don’t want to see me angry,” The Lightning God says, about to electrify his hand to electrocute Emma. But he gets cut off by Jake, who walks into Nexus Gates.
“Boss,” Jake says. “I found the coordinates to where Xyren’s ship landed last year. It’s approximate.”
“Thank you,” The Lightning God says, releasing Emma. “Where?”
“Dallas, sir,” Jake says.
“Texas?” The Lightning God asks. “That makes sense, it’s where Jonathan, or Kael, landed.”
“You say that as if my alien identity upsets me,” Jonathan says. “I couldn’t care less, honestly. Matter of fact, I’d prefer Kael.”
“When do you ever get mad?” The Lightning God asks, annoyed and frustrated.
“Almost never,” Jonathan says. “The last time I got mad was 4 months ago when the team told me to back down against you.”
“Well, they were right,” The Lightning God says. “You should’ve. Because look what happened.”
“Alright, I swear, when I get out of here, I’m gonna-” Jonathan says, getting mad, but gets cut off by James.
“Okay!” James yells, interrupting. “Calm down, Jon.”
“I’m calm,” Jonathan says, backing up. “Completely fine.”“Just breathe, Jon,” James says. “Just breathe.”
“Now,” The Lightning God says. “I’ll be in Dallas. Be back soon, don’t worry.”
“Nobody’s worrying,” Frank says. “Matter of fact, it might be a bit more peaceful without you here.”“Okay, then I guess I’ll kill a few people along the way,” The Lightning God says.
“Thanks, Frank,” Andrew says.
“Way to go, buddy,” Emma says.
“I didn’t mean-” Frank says. “That’s not what I meant, and you know it, Lightning God!”
“No, but it’s what I meant,” The Lightning God says. He turns to Jake. “Let’s roll!”
“Dammit!” Frank mutters under his breath.
“Good job,” James says to Frank.
“Nice going,” Jonathan says.
“I didn’t mean-” Frank says. “I give up!” He throws his arms in the air and sits on the ground against the wall.
Texas
Dallas
The Lightning God speeds in with Jake, and they see the windshield of the ship sticking out of a pile of dirt.
“Is that the ship?” The Lightning God asks.
“Precisely,” Jake replies.
“Precisely? This isn’t a job interview, just say yes or no.”
“Yes. Yes, it’s the ship.”
“Thank you.”
The Lightning God walks to the ship, and he speeds around it, taking off all the grass. Suddenly, Jake yells and gets launched backwards, hitting a tree in front of The Lightning God, getting knocked out.
“The hell?” The Lightning God asks, before turning around, and sees someone. “Who the hell are you?”
“I am Arion, of Kryndor,” the man replies.
“Uh, who, now?”
“My name is Arion Deten. On May 28th of 2026”(Season 2, Episode 9), “according to Earth’s dates, my ship landed right here. I was with my friend, Xyren, we came here to-”
“Xyren?”
“Yes, Xyren.”
“Oh my Lightning God.”
“What?”“He’s dead.”
“What?”
“The Sentinel, he killed Xyren. Beat him to death.”“Where is The Sentinel now?”“Kael Thalor killed him, of course.”“That’s why I’m here, actually. To capture Kael.”
“Well, it’s been over a year. I already captured him, and his team. He’d kill you anyway, that’s for sure. You’re weak. I can tell.”
“Really? You think this is weak?”
Arion shoots lasers from his eyes at The Lightning God, but The Lightning God activates his lightning-armor, which blocks the lasers. Arion stops, and looks confused.
“Gonna have to try harder than that,” The Lightning God says. “Way harder.”
“I will kill you!” Arion yells.
“I’d like to see you try.”
Arion lets out a battle cry and flies at The Lightning God.
