Just kids being kids? Not really

"High school stories usually feel like they're trying way too hard to be deep, but this one has a different vibe. It’s that weird feeling of being 15 or 16 where every little thing feels like a life-or-death situation, even when it’s just a lizard on a wall or a weird look in the hallway. I like that the characters aren't just walking clichés like "the popular girl" or "the loner." They feel like actual people I might’ve known—kind of annoying, definitely lost, and hiding way too much. What really stuck with me is how it captures that quiet tension of keeping secrets. You can spend every single day with the same people and still not have a clue what’s actually going on in their heads. It makes you wonder what your own friends are holding back. It’s not about some grand tragedy; it’s about the messy, awkward reality of growing up and realizing that the people you thought you knew are changing, and there’s no way to go back to how things were. It’s grounded, it’s a bit cynical, and it feels honest about how much high school can actually suck when you're caught in the middle of it. Overthinking every interaction, trying to act cool when you're panicking—it’s all there. Definitely hits close to home if you remember that age."
