( Lila pov) I had given up everything for Lucian, including my family and my friends believing he loved me boy was I wrong. Lucian and I had been together since we were teenagers, I went to school with him and his brother Elijah Bane. Infact I grew up right across the street from them. Elijah was the type to protect what he loved, he invited me too a party one night because Lucian was playing football so I agreed. Lucian bursted threw the door angirly with jealousy in his eyes. He shoved Eli hard " she's mine!" Lucian said glaring at Eli I could smell booze off of him my wolf didn't need to tell me he was drunker then a skunk. " Lucian enough! Your drunk, let's get you home before your dad finds out" I say too him Eli sighs nodding at me " come on I'll drive you home, we can pick up your car in the morning. " he says helping him into the car Lucian grabs my hand pulling me ontop of him " Lucian let go, you're drunk." He sighs annoyed " funny Lila your willing too fuck my brother behind my back but your mine" he says I slap him across the face " Bastard!" I get up crying looking away . Eli closes the door drives away sighing ( Eli pov) " your a fucking dick you know that, I never touched her. I wouldn't do that too you. She loves you and you talked to her like shit Lucian, she wants too have your pups one day you really are an idiot. " he sighs heavily " Fuck Eli , I'm sorry I had no idea. Do you think she'll ever talk to me again?" I shake my head at him confused " you can try Lucian " is all I say. I get him inside and up too his room when I head to my room my phone buzzes it's a text from Lila " Eli, thank you for the party tonight. I'm sorry about Lucian, ill talk too him tomorrow morning " come morning I walked past the living room Lila was in there talking to Lucian. He saw me and invited me in " Lila explained everything to me, Eli. I'm sorry for blaming you and her . I was drunk and pissed because we lost the game and mad because dad found out about my grades dropping if they drop anymore he will take away my alpha title when I turn eighteen. " Lucian says fustratedly Lila gently tries too comfort him as she places her hand on his arm. As he shoves her away annoyed " Get off me , I don't need pitty from some trader like you!" He shouts at her Lila is on the floor in tears I pin him to the wall angirly " you son of a bitch! You don't deserve her! Why do you treat her that way?" I shout at him angirly he sighs heavily looking at me " you're right and I need some space Lila just for tonight " he says she sits there in shock watching my brother walk away. I let her stay at the house in the extra room my dad rented to wolves who needed a place sometimes. " I'm sorry about Lucian, he can be very stubborn sometimes. But don't worry Lila he'll come back" she sighs placing the glass of water I handed too her on the table. " Eli, your father chose me to be his mate. I never was hand picked by the moon godess herself. " she says sighing heavily she flips her blonde hair back over her shoulder as my inner wolf watches her movements. Artemis my wolf spoke too me " Elijah Bane, she is our mate I smell it all over her make your move before your our ignorant brother hurts her." He says too me I shake my head Lila shits forward " Elijah, let Sakura speak with Artemis " Lila had figured something was wrong soon her wolf and mine were communicating threw our minds. Sakura spoke softly " Artemis, my job is too protect Lila at all costs not get her caught up in a fight between you and Lucian his wolf is angry and grows angrier everyday. What do you want from us?" She asks curiously Artemis sighs heavily " You" he says boldly our wolves stop speaking as Lila leans in kissing me deeply I want more of her. But I pull away she looks at me confused " Eli, I'm sorry I should go" she says getting off the sofa I sigh grabbing her wrist gently as she stops and turns looking at me " No Lila stay please, I'm sorry. Look, I need you to understand its not because I don't like you it's because of Lucian. You're his mate by contract and I can't break any rules no matter what the moon godess herself wants for us . " she rips her hand away crying as she goes too her room slamming the door. I sigh punching the wall angirly at myself as my brother and father walk in . Lucian raises his eyebrow at me confused " woah, bro...what the hell is got you so pissed?" My father shakes his head at me " Both of you need to calm your tempers, Elijah where is Lila?" My father asks curiously I look at him and Lucian " she's in her room, I don't think she is feeling well " I say Lucian rolls his eyes " she's probably faking it as usual , that or you two are hiding something " he says laughing my father glares at him grabbing his collar " Lucian Bane she's your mate go look after her I didn't raise some ignorant asshole " he says angirly Lucian heads upstairs next thing father and I knew Lila was lying at the bottom of the stairs unconscious I looked up at Lucian as he stood there with her blood on his hands , my father stood infront of me " Quickly! Elijah get her out of here now!" I ran with Lila in my arms all the way to wolfpeak hospital. It was around midnight when my friend ben arrived to the hospital he was covered in blood. I stood up quickly " Ben what the hell happened to you ?" He hesitated " Lucian his anger it took over his wolf , Eli I'm sorry he killed your father. He also pushed Lila down the stairs because he found out about the kiss between you and her Alpha Lucian rejected her. " Ben explains to me I look at Lila with concern my brother was now my rival. Treating Lila like shit was one thing, but killing our father and nearly killing my mate I wasn't going too let him get away with it.
