The Fear at the Edge of the Night
The wind howled through the trees, echoing through the night. As I stood on the cliff edge, I could feel the fear rising in me. I had no idea what to expect, but I knew I had to face it.
I looked at the looming house in the distance, my heart pounding with anticipation. I could feel my palms getting clammy and my breathing felt labored as I started walking in its direction. The night enveloped me in its darkness, and with each step I took, the closer I was getting to the unknown.
I arrived at the house and pressed my ear against the wooden door. I could swear I heard a faint voice calling out from the inside. I had to make a choice. Should I open the door and see what was waiting for me? Or should I turn back and try to find out what was happening from a distance?
