Under Mechanical Watch
“Attention Citizens, Formal Curfew is now in effect. Begin to enter your homes and clear the streets”
These were the last words that I heard before my life had flipped upside down. I quickly went into my house and walked over to the bay window. I was two of the new Security Police bots walking down the road.
I’mnot sure what scared me more, the fact that the bots stood seven feet tall and towered over me or the fact that they weigh more than a car. Either way, the first thing that was taught in school is when aPBtells you to do something youdoit.
Once they had walked past my house my eyescouldn’thelp but follow them down the street. My phone buzzed, pulling it out of my pocket and looking down.

“Hey, Honey, what are you looking at?”Mymother askedwhile she wascoming into the living room.
“There are Police Bots in the streets!” Isaid, looking over my shoulder to her.
“Oh,aretherenow?”Sheasked,walking to the window.

I could tell by the look on her face that somethingwasn’tright. I have never truly seen my mother worry about anything.I had always thought that it came with being married to a military man.
My mother quickly walked away from the window and into the kitchen. I could hear the TV that he liked to keep in there on the counter when she cooks on.A man was speaking but it wasmuffledand Icouldn’tunderstand what he was saying.
My phone buzzed again. I fished it out of my pocket again and looked down. The Box Crewwas on the screen. I swipedup onthe screen and clicked the notification.

30 minutes pass
————————————————————
I began to walk outtowardsthethebox.Once I had gotten into eye view ofit,I could already see Alan, Timmy, and Skyler up in the tree house. They all lookedworried, butAlanlooked nervous as well.
I slowly climbed up the ladder and opened the hatch. Stepping into the tree house, the other boys took a seat in their spot.None ofus spoke at first.Justcasually looking aroundateach other. Timmy was the first to say anything.
“So,are we not going to talk about it?” Timmyasked, looking around us.

“Yeah, you’re not alone I seen ittoo” Isaidfinally speaking up.
“Yeah, I didtoo,” Alen said, looking overatme.
“Has anyone figured outwhat’sgoing on? I tried to ask my dad and hekind of blewme off” Skylerstated.
“Yeah,I did the same with my mother and she never answered.” Timmy said.
“My mother had the TV on in the kitchen, I think that it was on the news and the guy on their soundedworried, but he was muffled and I could understand what he was saying” I said looking at the boys.
“Hmm this is gettingweird” Alen said looking out the Box’s window.
Before anyone could say anotherword, aloud hissing soundbegan to go over the Box. All four of us rushed to the window to see another drone carrierfly over us.It was low.Very low.
“What is that thing” Timmy asked as we watched If flytowardstown.
Non ofus spoke, we all decided to go home and try to get some rest. As we came down from theboxwe could hear that message that played through the first PB that walked past my house earlier that day.
Attention Citizens, Formal Curfew is now in effect. Begin to enter your homes and clear the streets”
We all froze near a bush by the road. Hiding behinditwe saw a group of 6 PB walk past us.
“Is it possible that there are more of those things theretherewere this afternoon?” Skyler asked.
We all nodded in agreement. Once the PBs had passed, we split up and all made our way home. I walked up to my room and sat down on my bed.I lay my head on mypillow, and I was out before I knew it even happened.
