Story 1 - Cookie

It was like any other night ....or so he thought. Brandon stopped at the local gas station to fill up his bike. It was unusually quiet. He thought he could hear faint laughter but when he looked, nothing was there. He quickly went inside to pay, as he was walking back to his bike he stopped dead in his tracks....his bike was surrounded by multiple girls dressed up in girl guide uniforms holding boxes of what looked like cookies.

Something about them looked so unnatural. These were not just regular kids, have you seen children of the corn? Yeah, exactly like those kids. He cautiously walked towards his bike with 15 pairs of eyes following him. Not sure what to do he waved and offered to buy some cookies but they didn't react, only watched him silently. As he gets on his bike and pulls out some money and tells them he will buy a couple boxes of cookies, one of the girls turns her head at an unnatural angle. “Only 2 boxes?”

Suddenly all the girls are screeching, they rush into Brandon hitting him with cookie boxes . He tries to fight them off but there are so many of them. He needs to escape. Starting up his bike 🏍 pushing the girls back he speeds away. Stealing a glance back he see’s them just standing there eyes locked on him still clutching their boxes of cookies, their high pitched screams following him as he gets further away. Before he gets out of sight he looks back one more time but they are gone. Part of him thinks maybe it was all a dream, a hallucination or something but when he reaches into the pocket of his jacket he finds a single girl guide cookie...

The End.

I randomly wrote this from a chat conversation when we were talking about girl guide cookies and buying them. It's a bit silly but I hope you enjoyed it 😊 lots of different stories come to mind and some are just very short like this so I thought it would be interesting to compile them together. I am thinking most will be more spooky themed but we will see 👀

Neenee73: The author managed to weave instant tension and mystery from the get go. It was a balancing act that kept me guessing and made everyone look like they could be a villain which is on par with the great writers of mystery like Agatha and Doyle. I was jumping at every creak. If you like tension in ever...
