Chapter 1: The Big Break

Chapter 1: The Big Break

I was nervous, but I was ready. After months of hard work and countless hours of practice, I was about to get my big break. I was about to perform my first stand-up comedy routine at the local comedy club.

I took a deep breath and stepped onto the stage. The lights were bright and the crowd was buzzing with anticipation. I looked out at the faces in the audience and smiled.

I opened my mouth to deliver my first joke, but before I could get the words out, I heard a voice from the back of the room.

“Hey, kid. You better make us laugh or you’re gonna be off the stage faster than you can say ‘boo!’”

I gulped. I knew I had to make this work. I had to make them laugh. I had to seize my moment and make it count.

I took another deep breath and cleared my throat. This was my chance to prove myself. This was my moment.

I decided to tell a joke about the current political climate.

YukkeTee: This isn’t just a romance. It’s the kind of slow-burn, messy kind of love that feels real—where two people carry scars and walls, and still choose each other anyway. The tension isn’t just between them; it’s in the quiet moments, the way they fumble through vulnerability, and the small, unspoken act...

Natasha Evermoor: This is really intriguing and emotionally intense. I like the way Joshua can truly change, or if Fleur is slowly getting pulled into something dangerous without realizing it. By the way, I love your book cover!

Aditi: A good story. Never felt bored. It was nice that the story also showed other things than just their love story like career family etc. but i expected jess and moose together in the end but it never happened. But overall nice.

Theresa: Very well written. Scary part is that girls and boys are indeed even today sold for sex.The ones who save them don't get enough credit for their bravery.
