Chapter 1: It Started Like Any Other Day...
It was a bright, sunny day in Green Hills, as it was on any other day this week. The sky was a bright blue with the sun shining bright, birds were chirping, flowers were blooming. It was the perfect time to enjoy the view.
... Or it would have been for a certain blue hedgehog if he wasn't so caught up in yet another battle with Eggman.
He was currently trying to outrun the mad scientist as he taunted him. "Really Egghead? This is the third fight this month already. I was hoping you would've improve by now." Sonic laughed.
That struck a nerve. "Don't you start with the joking, Sonic! Just you wait, I'll catch you sooner than you think!" Eggman growled.
Sonic yawned "you say that all the time, and look at us now, still doing the same routine from time to time." he said before spindashing into a few minon robots, each one exploding on impact.
He then huffed, smiling at his skills. "See?"
Eggman growled. "You know what?! Fine! Have it your way. This stops... For now. But mark my words, hedgehog, I will find something to take you down. Mark my words!" Eggman shouted as he hovered away from his eggmobile.
Sonic stretched, scoffing to himself. "Yeah right. Keep dreaming, Robotnik." he said. Seeing as there was nothing else to do after that fight- if you can call constant arguing and teasing one that is- he decided to take this opportunity to enjoy the rest of the day. Maybe get a chilli dog and check in on his friend tails. He's been working on some sort of invention. A new radar for his plane or something.
But just as he prepared to speed off, he saw something glowing in a bush. Curious, Sonic moved the branches to find a gemstone. It wasn't a chaos emerald, he knows what those look like.
It was like a squirl of green, blue, and purple, with a mysterious glow to it. It almost made him feel watched.
"Huh, what's this thing doing around here?" he asked himself as he picked it up. The stone was round, and it glowed. The fact that some mething like this was out in the open wasn't normal.
Sonic kept it in his hands. "Maybe Tails could help me figure out what this is. I'm sure he has a scanner." he thought to himself before speeding off.
Little did he know, that marked the start of a brand new adventure.
