What if, biologically, something outlined in the events of this story were possible? What would it look like, day to day, physically and emotionally? How would it affect a committed couple—two people who love each other deeply and communicate well—when one of the most fundamental aspects of their identity began to shift in real time?
This story is about change, adaptation, and the messy, beautiful resilience of love. It’s grounded in realism, even as it embraces a touch of the fantastic.
