One of a kind and I’m not okay
"I don't even know where to start. I picked this up thinking it would be a nice and easy Scottish romance but I got gutted. Coira and Euan are everything. I loved how slow and real and deep and honest their connection is and was so relieved it wasn’t insta-love. They took their time and it’s perfect. They’re two prickly and traumatised people slowly learning to trust each other after losing everything or suffering things that should’ve killed them. I felt like I was walking through the mist with them. The folklore, the old ways and the land itself is a character it's all so beautifully done. I cried more times than I want to admit. Mary made me sob. The vows made me sob. Euan is the greenest of green flags and actually feels like a real man. The bothy scene?!!!! All the smut is gorgeous. It’s so different and meaningful. It never felt shoehorned in. I'm not okay. I’ll never forget this book. The writing itself is beautiful poetry. You have to read this. It will wreck you. You will never be the same but it's so so worth it. The ending will punch you in the chest in the best way. The author has a gift that I hope she never stops using. I’ve never read anything like this before and I’ll never forget it. "
