Scarily compelling

"I have yet to read the whole book, but it starts off in a terrifying convincing manner. It is easy to make a cartoon villain out of a dictator. However, this is not what seems to be happening here. The content and tone of Hitler's responses are authentic and convincing. How does Hitler respond to the interviewer? He is arrogant and unyielding; yet, also evasive. He tries to hide behind euphemism and silence. He tries to 'reframe' the debate, in order to avoid any suspicion of culpability. He distorts and perverts language, in order to make himself seem the real victim. This is what abusers do. This is an excellent reminder to me that I need to write a compelling portrayal of Hitler in my own novel serial on Inkitt, 'Auschwitz in Essex.' Anyone who portrays Hitler would do well to follow the example of the author of the Hitler interviews; Hitler was not just a ranting and raving buffoon, but an incredibly shrewd and cunning manipulator, who could turn white into black, and black into white. Excellent concept, superb execution!"
