The Coffee Collision

Chapter 1

Mason Lee was late. Not just five minutes late—the kind of late that made his chest tighten and his hands tremble as he fumbled with his tie in the mirror.

By the time he finally dashed into the café, laptop bag bouncing on his shoulder and coffee cup in hand, he barely had time to think. His mind was already running through the day ahead: meetings, client calls, and a presentation he hadn’t finished.

And then it happened.

“Whoa—watch it!”

Too late. Coffee splashed in a perfect arc, landing squarely on a stack of glossy photographs spread across the counter. Mason froze, mortified.

The man crouched to salvage his prints, brushing the liquid off with surprising calm. He looked up, met Mason’s horrified eyes, and grinned.

“It’s okay! Really, don’t worry about it. You didn’t ruin anything.”

Mason blinked. “Th-they’re… not ruined?”

The man shrugged, carefree. “Not unless you hate color.”

Mason stared at him, noticing for the first time the camera slung around the man’s neck and the messy apron tied over a simple black t-shirt. His hair was tousled, his expression mischievous, and yet… strangely comforting.

“I—I can replace them,” Mason stammered, clutching his ruined coffee cup.

“No need,” the man said, straightening up. “How about this? You come by every day until they’re replaced, and I’ll give you a free coffee. Deal?”

Mason’s brain short-circuited. “I… what?”

The man winked. “It’s a deal.”

Mason hesitated, glanced at the prints, the mess, the warm lighting, the faint scent of coffee, and then—reluctantly—nodded. “Okay… deal.”

“Perfect,” he said, his smile wide and teasing. “I’m Theo, by the way. And you are…?”

“Mason. Mason Lee.”

“Nice to meet you, Mason Lee. Welcome to your new daily routine.”

Mason groaned silently. Somehow, he had a feeling this routine was going to be… anything but predictable.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
