Preface
Preface
I wrote Rainy Days because of a deeply personal experience. The story was sparked by a time of struggle shared between a friend and me, and I wanted to channel those emotions into something that could give voice to that specific, quiet ache.
I want to be very clear that while the inspiration is personal, the story itself is not a retelling. None of the plot points or events is based on the reality of what happened; rather, the idea grew from the feelings of that time. Yeah, stories are born from what the writer feels for the world, but this one is not only related to me personally but is shared with a friend I once knew, so I want to be careful that you won’t perceive it the wrong way. My intent isn’t to entertain with someone else’s feelings but to stick to my own, and to honor the weight of that experience by creating something entirely new
At the same time, Taehyung’s song “Rainy Days” came into my life, and its melancholic tone and beautiful lyrics fit perfectly with the emotions I wanted to express. The song has an undeniable essence of longing, sadness, and reflection, feelings that resonated with the journey of the characters I created. It gave me the perfect backdrop for the story, so I decided to blend those elements together.
The rainy atmosphere, the sense of nostalgia, and the underlying theme of love and loss all came from both my personal experience and the emotional depth Taehyung’s song inspired in me. It’s a story about missed opportunities, the weight of unspoken words, and the quiet storms people carry inside them.
Choosing the title “Rainy Days” seemed like the only fitting choice because it captures the essence of both the song and the story, where rain becomes not just a setting, but a reflection of the heart’s own weather.
“Sometimes the rain doesn’t wash everything away. and sometimes it only leaves you with more questions than answers.”
