“Like laying out a story.” Kris leans forward, closer to the woman. “Exactly. I can’t show you how any of your relationships would’ve turned out without going back to The Beginning. Then I show you what would’ve happened if you selected a different path. The Middle. Finally, we jump forward to the future. It could be the same time as now, or it could be earlier or later in your life. But it’s always The End.” She reaches behind her and places an iPad on the table. It looks like it’s seen better days. “Shouldn’t you be using a crystal ball or something?” The woman smirks, nudging the iPad a bit closer. “If you really want to find out, just tap the screen. If you want her to see it too, make sure you two are touching.” I let out a small laugh, roll my eyes as I grab Kris’s hand, and touch the screen.
