The Lonely Night

Looking up and down lighted street, I see no one in sight to relieve me of my burden. No one to converse with about a child’s imagination. No one to comment on my own hard work.

Once these empty streets were filled with laughter and the sounds of, “Trick or Treat.” Houses were lined with decorations, showing that we could also have fun. And the parents could showcase the fruits of their labor.

But now the streets are forsaken. No laughter, a full bowl, and only a single pumpkin. And all that is left is one question, “Where is Halloween?”
