A hand reached out to the alarm clock, which showed 7 o'clock. With a light push, the alarm fell from its stand and stopped ringing.
A face peeked out from under the blanket, revealing wide, brown eyes that stared directly at the ceiling. After a few minutes of struggling to get up from a deep sleep, I yawned and lazily looked at the alarm clock. My eyes widened.
"Shit! I'm going to be late for school!" In a hurry, I jumped out of bed, sprinted to my cupboard, grabbed my uniform, and rushed into the bathroom.
Today is the first day of school after summer vacation. We're moving up a grade, and now, as a secondary year student, I need to be responsible."
"First day, first impressions... new class, new friends. I have to do my best this year."
Tying my shoelaces in a rush while looking in the mirror, I glanced at my uniform: a white shirt with a dark blue skirt that reached my knees. Looking presentable, I grabbed my backpack, heavy with books from every subject.
It's so heavy! I might fall on my ass, but like a champion, I'm carrying 10 kg worth of books on my back!"
Coming out of my room, I went straight in the kitchen and made myself a sandwich for lunch. Since my whole family was still asleep, I had to prepare my own lunch. I wasn't complaining, though, as i also get money from my dad.
: There he was, waiting at the doorstep and half-asleep while standing.
Then I heard the school bus honk. My father woke up, startled. I shook my head, smiling slightly, and went towards him. He gave me my pocket money. I said goodbye and took my leave.
As I sat on the bus, half the seats were still empty as the bus continued to pick up students from the neighborhood. I looked outside and waved goodbye to my father, who gave me a thumbs up for good luck. I nodded in response.
As I reached school, my heart starts beating fast, and I feel nervous. I hope everything goes well since it's a well known school. Taking a deep breath, I went through the big black gate. It looks classic with its nice curves. Inside, every student is looking around searching for their own classes I'm not the only one who's nervous. senior students helping the new ones to find their classes.
Huffing and puffing, I finally reach the third floor, my legs burning from the climb.
I find my class, and a sense of relief washes over me. Entering the classroom, I'm met with a scene of organized chaos; every seat is filled with students chatting animatedly. Scanning the room, I spot an empty bench towards the back. As I make my way there, unnoticed, I sink into the seat just as the school bell rings, signaling the lectures are about to start.
