Chapter 1 (A Saint's Desire)
Located In the Mistwood Magic Academy... which is full of not so ordinary people.
The classroom hums.
Chairs scrape. Someone's phone vibrates and gets silenced. Sunlight spills through the windows, dust floating lazily in the air.
A normal classroom is what you would call it... but is it really just an ordinary class? Mages, Smiths, Swordmen, Summoners and mages are filled in the class! No way that's normal? Well... fantasy sure is a loveable genre.
Reiko Otsuumu sits straight at her desk.
Her long black hair is neat and her side bangs got some white streaks on her side bangs. Her gentle pale blue eyes are somewhat focusing on her notes. A diligent student i say.
A small cross necklace peeks out of her uniform collar.
Mai slumps into the sit beside Reiko, dropping a bag with a thud.
Mai:
"Urrghh, I'm dying.."
Reiko:
"Did you sleep late again?"
Mai:
"I was training my incantations for next week's magic sparring.."
Reiko sighed:
"You really should consider sleeping earlier, it's not healthy to push yourself too much." with a smile
Mai groans:
"But then i might fall behind!-"
She got interrupted by a voice
Himari:
"Mai.. why do you even chase power that much? It's not like your grades are bad." then she shifts her gaze to Reiko with a teasing smile she says "And you, Reiko. Always acting like a mom to everyone.. sigh.. you need to teach her a lesson! Not pamper her."
Reiko:
"I'm not-
Mai:
"Boohoo you're just jealous i have better spells than you."
Himari rolled her eyes and ask Reiko:
"You're going to church tomorrow?"
Reiko nodded:
"yeah, morning services and my usual duties."
Himari suddenly sobs dramatically:
"Boohoo.. sometimes it makes me sad thinking you dislike doing all that"
Reiko replied simply with "Ah.. please stop thinking I'm being abused. It's my... duty and what i chose anyway." with a smile.
Reiko now smiles even more while saying "I like it, it's...peaceful"
Himari gasped and says
"You sounded SO depressing-"
Mai simply laughed at Reiko and patted Himari's back trying to reassure her Reiko is just too religious.
The class now starts. Teacher is yelling incantations and tell the students to repeat after him. It's the usual, nothing out of ordinary. And yet..Reiko doesn't feel anything.
"Can't something thrilling... happen already?" she thought as she write in her notebook, not to mention how depressing she sounded- She shook her head "No.. this is fine, at least I'm not suffering." but she knows deep down... all this are too ordinary and boring.
Reiko sighed and lifts back her gaze to the teacher and focuses back in class like the good student she is.
She doodled on the notebook a picture of cat wearing a witch's hat without even realizing it. Looks like this protagonist is not just diligent but also has a cute side to her hmm?
In the end girl did not focus much and her notebooks are filled with what she thinks would be thrilling to experience!
