Summary

My mother leaving taught me how to survive before it taught me how to love. I was raised tough—no frills, no softness. The only girl in a house that didn’t make room for feelings. My dad was a cop, and strength was expected, not explained. Crying wasn’t encouraged. Endurance was. I learned how to be strong early. I just didn’t learn how to be gentle with myself until much later. I became a mother before I ever felt mothered. I lost my home but never my will. And even when I had nothing, I still had her—and that was enough to keep going.! I am just a chosen one. A diamond in the rough ; With life no matter what- I never folded, Nor will i ever fold. Thats a promise from me to all my Family, My Homies.

Chapter 1: The Start Here :

I learned early how to survive in silence.

I was the strong one, the understanding one, the girl who held it together while quietly coming undone. People saw my smile before they ever saw my wounds—and I let them. Not because I was fake, but because I was tired. I was more actually exhausted. But, as the only daughter- Then- I knew to keep it together for my little brother and baby brother.

~ Which, I had a hard time doing because of the fussing that became hard to do. Still, going to school and watching my brothers fade- from our close bonds brought anger!

This book isn’t about perfection. It’s about becoming. About the nights I cried and the mornings I still showed up. About loving deeply, losing painfully, and choosing myself anyway.
