Chapter 1:
Damon paced angrily in the hallway of the dark house, the witch was taking ages. He thought about threatening her some more but she knew she was untouchable, he needed her alive, for now at least but he had his leverage, to keep her in line.
A smirk curled up on one side of his face, he could take his frustrations out on her later and he would enjoy every second.
Just then he heard her footsteps on the stairs, “About time witch.”
“Sorry Damon, it took a bit longer than anticipated, to work in all your stipulations.”
“I don’t care for your excuses; you know who will pay for your delays.”
“Please Damon, you said she would be returned unharmed.”
“No, I said she wouldn’t be killed,” he laughs at her devastated face.
“Will it do what I want?”
“Yes,” her voice is shaky, “your offspring will follow you as their ultimate Alpha, breaking any pack bonds that may have formed. They will be strong alpha wolves themselves and they will inherit your fighting abilities.”
“Good, and the mate bonds? Your speciality is mate potions, after all that’s why I sought you out.”
“I have influenced the mate bonds as best I can, it takes strong magic to interfere with the Moon Goddess’ plans. Any that get their wolves early, will be more likely to form mate bonds with the bloodlines of your pack, I used your blood ties as their Alpha.”
“You cut it close witch, they held the new Alpha ceremony this morning.”
“Your blood was taken when you were still Alpha, the pack essence was there, I had time. Anyway, your revenge won’t come to fruition for 25 years.”
He held himself back from striking her for her insolence, “Just because 25 years is nothing to the lifespan of a werewolf, doesn’t mean you can delay me further, I assume that means you have incorporated the time failsafe.”
“Yes, if their dormant wolves haven’t emerged by age 25, they will turn on their 25th birthday and you will be able to track them once they shift.”
He rounded on her angrily, “What do you mean, once they shift?” she looks terrified now and a bolt of satisfaction runs through him. Fear turns him on, he can’t wait to play with his leverage tonight.
“It, it, was the only way,” she stutters, “I can’t tie anything to their human side, as we don’t know where that comes from yet, so I used your blood to tie everything to the wolf side, they will inherit from you. You’ll be able to scry for their location using your blood ties, but only once they have shifted. If their wolf is dormant, you won’t be able to track them.”
He’s pissed, that may complicate things, but it will have to do, “How does it work?”
She hands him a bottle filled with a murky purple liquid, “Just drink this before you mate and the potion will fuse with your seed. I just don’t understand, how you will find enough human women to impregnate, to create your hybrid army.”
He looks at her and grins evilly, “That’s the easy part, they will come to me.”
As he leaves the house he looks up at the billboard across the street: “Donors wanted for new fertility clinic, good rates paid.” Chuckling he gets into his car and heads over to Harley Street, after all, he has an appointment to keep.
