"This is a different kind of vampire story. Unexpectedly gripping, with tons of action and plenty of hot spice. Absolutely cruel when the "happy ending" came almost halfway through the book and I thought, "What else could possibly happen now? So much has already happened." And then so, so much more unexpected stuff happens! Is there a second happy ending? You'll have to read it for yourselves. Definitely recommended! (But be warned: highly addictive! I've already finished book 2 as well.) Das ist mal eine andere Art von Vampir-Geschichte. Unerwartet fesselnd und mit jeder Menge Aktion und hot spice. Absolut gemein, als das "Happy End" beinahe in der Mitte des Buches lag und ich dachte: "Was soll denn jetzt noch passieren? War doch schon so viel." Und dann passiert noch so so viel Unerwartetes! Ob es noch ein zweites Happy End gibt? Müsst ihr selbst lesen. In jedem Fall empfohlen! (Aber Achtung! Suchtgefahr! Ich habe auch schon den 2. Band durch.)"
THE 1st RULE OF BLOOD
"This is no 'normal' vampire story. It is an incredibly unique tale of Vivum Vampires, pure hearted Protectors, and human Ostiums who are precious and sacred to the Vivums. The villains are the evil Malum Vampires, humans that have been drained then filled with Vivum blood which goes against the Rules of Blood, and of course the Vivum who turned them is the major miscreant in all this. The story follows Addison, a Vivum Enforcer and Reed, an Ostium, who is a plumber with a serious gambling addiction. Addison recognises Reed as an Ostium and immediately is attracted to him. Meanwhile Reed, unaware he is an Ostium, also finds he is very much attracted to Addison. Their desire is undeniable and there are some really hot scenes ahead. Addison will be conflicted with his religion and the Rules of Blood. Reed will be kidnapped more than once, and introduced to the world of the Vampires very quickly. The plot is well planned but be prepared for a couple of unexpected twists with some humorous banter along the way. I was enthralled with this storyline. Vampires, villains, violence, MM romance, strong love and survival - if you're into all this - then you should enjoy this story as much as I did."

"Me ha gustado mucho la novela porque después de leer, casi todo lo que se ha escrito sobre vampiros, todavía has conseguido sorprenderme. La trama se puede seguir sin dificultad. Y además es rápida de leer, se hace muy amena. Lo unico que no me gusta son los puntos de vista. Pero no me gustan en esta novela ni en ninguna. Por qué me parece que tratan al lector como si fuera tonto. Creo que con el resto de la puntuación o conversación, ya se entiende quién es el que habla o piensa. La parte erótica está muy bien porque no llega a ser desagradable y es muy tierna también. Lo cierto es que me ha gustado mucho y lo he leído en 3 días. Mi fragmento favorito lo escribí de propio en unas notas. Es este: "Cuándo nadie quiso ir en contra del guión sagrado. Entonces al hijo del Dux Fortis, se le dio el apostador más cariñoso, imprudente y tentador, que había entrado en su esfera. Dios hizo eso, para que esto sucediera cómo Él quiere" Mi enhorabuena, seguiré tu trabajo."

"A very interesting and absorbing twist on the vampire theme. The joy of the two main couples contrasts with the loneliness of the vivums that will not get an ostium to share their very long lives. Somehow companionship and praying together does not sound very satisfying. I hope to read more stories from this universe. Thank you."
