Almost... and That’s the Point!

"I read this all the way through, and what stands out most is how real it feels. This isn’t a flashy, trope-heavy romance, it’s a long, honest look at timing, attachment, and the kind of connection that lingers even when it probably shouldn’t. Judy and Damian’s push-and-pull dynamic feels messy and human, and I appreciated how the story doesn’t romanticize chaos. The New England settings and recurring Bickford’s scenes give it a grounded, lived-in texture. More than anything, this feels like a growth story, watching Judy evolve from someone chasing intensity to someone who recognizes what steady love actually looks like. If you’re looking for sweeping grand gestures, this may not be that kind of romance. But if you like reflective, emotionally honest storytelling about the lessons we learn through the wrong people before finding the right one, this delivers. Writing something this personal takes courage. Great job putting it out there."
