Secret Flame (suspenseful action and an insanely hot dynamic 🔥🔥🔥)
"An exquisite dark romance novel that includes a Dom/Sub service, followed by stalking, reciprocated obsession, highly erotic intimacy, mind-blowing breakthroughs, a powerful couple dynamic, suspenseful action through traitors and imminent dangers, and a relationship with a feeling of belonging that melts any heart. Through the first intrigues, Club Myne's change to deny her access, with Lia's questionable involvement and disappearance, gave so many creepy vibes. Some plot twists were so surprising that "screaming into the void" (author's notes) perfectly related to my situation. The messages she received were mind-blowing, but the hot, blind surrender given to him makes any non-dark romance reader highly question our trembling sanity for being into these fantasies. 😈 Such a sexy first three chapters at the beginning that scream a re-read, just perfect to keep your mind busy with countless daydreams. All of it just got me flushed as hell, but to touch her after removing his gloves and consuming her with his mouth, with all his dominance and filthy praises... Yes, Sir! 🫠🫠🫠 So much positive tension that I enjoyed, and I didn't even realise how precious it was until I got to the "not him" heartbreaking part. I nearly choked on air at the author's note, "Did this chapter hurt the way I think it did?", thinking about how small that word feels for the devastating sensation. 😭 At that point, I considered that Natalia's disappointment would pay off in the end with someone better, but still, the writing style did a fantastic job of conveying hurtful sensations. Still, I know it fit great, just making the following sexy scenes even better. The plot, twists, and overall action and suspense are just as captivating, blending everything perfectly. And the touch of foreign accents and words is a highly appreciated effort to integrate. 👏🏻 After the first tastes of some BDSM erotism and the terrifying action that resembled like some horror hallutions through stalking, disappearance, creepy messages and signals, after a night that could easily cause a long-term damaging brain-circuit (a kidnapping ressemble experience, dom+sub play, unexplainable tenderness), the plot that Nati is involved with alarming escalation is blown to her face, foresighting a lot of tension through an explosive action. 💥 I was surprised by the menacing villains (when everything was finally as clear as daylight), then the "Bang" that closed a huge betrayal (with Russ and Graham), the gun battle in those blackouts, Natalie's strength to go until the end with her justice, the way the couple experienced everything together, being so united. 💖 Deon has all those irresistible skills we unashamedly crave to find in these amazing MMCs, but his accent makes him harder to forget. His "fok"s undid me, especially when worshipping Natalie with endless reverence. 🫠🫠🫠 Learning about her for months (both with physical interactions through spicy masked moments, and through his female employee that played well as Nat's friend), being the dominant man in control, then going smitten for her, yet not losing composure, and the mutual feeling of total peace with one another as they deepen their relation, despite the dangerous world they are a part of, makes it so luscious to dive into their story. 📚✨️ All this, plus the author's note regarding the knife-sharing idea, used here and in Viv's book starring Asher... hmm, utterly delicious! 🫦 The **reciprocated** "I'm yours" in the car, after the poligon shooting and learning everything about Deon's business, definitely hits deep. Taking everything in regarding his world... phew, it is a lot, and Natalia seems to fit quite well into that place. Graham didn't break her, but she made herself stronger, and I love this energy of her feminine power. No wonder she got such an influential man to fall head over heels for her. ❤️ His adoration for her is breathtaking, and the way he blended so easily into her family and friend circles makes me smile with deep gratitude. And all his attentive care towards her, proudly showing himself by her side every time he had the opportunity. He was like, "Let's send a selfie together", "Can I come to your family dinner?" And I'm like, "Can you please stop being so 'fokken' fascinating?" 😂😂😂 Also, I highly appreciate the author's notes, like she directly talks to us and checks in with us at every chapter. So many times it seemed like she wrote exactly what I was thinking. 🥰 My favourite moments and poetic lines come when Deon starts to unravel and share heart-squeezing words of sheer promise, right before proving his devotion to his woman. There are countless such lines, but I want to highlight at least a few that made me drop my hand to my heart and take deep breaths, as they'll somehow mark my soul forever. Just a few lines, but there are sooo many more: "I want you to be mine. I want to appreciate you. Every part of you. Every f*cking intricacy." "Let me please you. Let me show you how much I desire you. I've waited fokking months for you to fully accept me." "You don't have to think so hard. Not with me. Learn to just... be." Shortly, this book is a perfect match for any dark romance reader who enjoys to experience extreme feelings through the story, such as: inevitable heat with a Dom/Sub relation (and everything related to it, with understanding and profoundness, not just the spice), beautiful surrenders and reverence, compelling plot twists, dreamlike MMC, inspiring FMC, thrilling action that sometimes includes hilarious dialogues, and dangerous situations that place the suspense to a high pinnacle. "I really enjoyed this! Be ready for a hot, steamy, full of twists and action packed ride... I completely fell in love with the characters 😍 This book is more than romance. It has action, mafia, spice, girl power and so much more... The only reason I've put 4 stars for the plot is because I feel this could have been 2 books that now are happening in one. So much happens action wise, that sometimes the buildup and change in their relationship is more in the background. I would have loved to see a more gradual change in that. The conflicting emotions from want, need and love come a bit more to the forefront, but besides that, the book was amazing and had me hooked! I will definitely read more work from Nicole. Thank you for your talent 🖤"
