Chapter 1 : The Eight subject

Rohit asked, “Is it really possible to travel to the past or the future?”

Dr. Neil replied, “Yes! I really appreciate my team. We have successfully completed this project. Now we can travel through time, but we have to test it first. Then we can use the capsule to prevent incidents like mass hunger and wars between global countries.”

Rohit said, “Fine. I heard you are finding people who can become test subjects and also giving them money after the trial.”

Dr. Neil replied, “Of course, that’s true. If you want some advance payment, you can ask me right now.”

Rohit said, “No! I don’t want advance money, but can I go to the past and save my wife?”

Dr. Neil said, “Yes. We want to see if changing some events in the past will affect the future. We have already selected seven people. You are the last one. I need your confirmation and your signature on this contract.”

Rohit said, “Yes, I want to do this.”

After that, he signed the contract.

Dr. Neil said, “Wait for 48 hours. After that, we will send every possible detail to you.”

Rohit asked one more question, “Am I only allowed to go to the past, or can I go to the future too?”

Dr. Neil replied, but Rohit did not fully understand her explanation.

After the meeting, Rohit went to the graveyard to meet his wife. He sat near her grave and said, “I know it was difficult. I lost you because of the war, but this time I have a chance to save you. I will do this. And if I save you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, just like you did for me. I love you, my dear Neelima.”

One Hour Before Departure

A person came to Rohit and asked, “Are you one of the test subjects?”

Rohit replied yes.

The mysterious person said, “Can you give me a minute?”

Rohit replied, “Sorry, I have to leave soon.”

A car arrived, and Rohit sat inside.

The mysterious man said, “Rohit, you are not allowed to succeed in this experiment because I don’t want you to face the consequences. The contract has a small clause. It says time travel may be risky. It contains extreme danger. You could get lost in a time warp or disappear into a black hole. Sign at your own risk.”

In the Lab

Rohit entered a room where seven people were already sitting. The contract stated that they were not allowed to tell each other why they had come.

A lady entered and said, “Here is your medicine. Please take it and have a good rest tonight. The experiment will take place tomorrow morning. Thank you.”

Everyone took their medicine, but Rohit was allergic to solid pills, so the authorities mixed his medicine with water.

Dr. Neil and the Mysterious Man

Dr. Neil said, “Don’t worry. If they die, no one will ever know. The world has 50 billion people. This population is one-third of the past population.”

The mysterious man replied, “This is a problem we have faced for generations—hunger, pollution, war. If we want to fix them, we must control people like puppets. Make them obedient like dolls. If someone acts differently, we eliminate them.”

Dr Neil asked, “Are you sure this experiment won’t succeed? If someone succeeds, what will we do?”

The mysterious man replied, “The government wants a better future—green land and fertile soil. They decided to take resources from the past and not repeat the same mistakes. But the Earth is healthiest when humans are gone. I don’t think this experiment will work. The theory we are using—Special Relativity, Gravitational Time Dilation, Wormholes, Cosmic Strings, Tipler Cylinder, and Quantum Theories—is extremely complicated. It may fail. After the death of eight people, the government will understand that it is impossible.”

The Next Morning

Dr. Neil said, “Hello everyone. I hope you slept well. Before starting the experiment, you will be divided into two groups. Please come with me.”

All the test subjects followed her. Each one chose a number, which became their tube number.

Subjects 1–4 chose tubes 3, 2, 7, and 1.

Subjects 5–8, including Rohit, chose tubes 4, 5, 6, and 8.

Dr. Neil took subjects 1–4 with her. The others waited in the simulation area.

Dr. Neil said, “Please lie down in the tubes. You won’t hear or see anyone. The only voice you will hear is mine.”

First Group

Tube 3 – Subject 1:

The experiment began. The subject had to survive extreme pressure. He failed. His body was torn apart inside the tube , a lot blood , mass pieces all over the tube . Dr. Neil said, “Subject 1 has failed.”

Tube 2 – Subject 2:

The subject had to survive infinite-speed time exchange. She failed. Her body became paralyzed, and her brain and heart stopped functioning.

Tube 7 – Subject 3:

The procedure started. He passed the first stage, but when the machine activated,he couldn't and disappeared into a black hole.

Tube 1 – Subject 4:

This subject was different. He successfully traveled to the past—to his father’s childhood. He saw his father playing happily with friends. Dr. Neil said, “You did it!”

He saw green every where , the sunlight fall on her face , the wind blows it makes him relax.

he told him he had two more chances and would return in five seconds. But his transmitter broke that's he listen anything. The mysterious man ordered Dr. Neil to stop the return process. Subject 4 saw his father’s entire life—childhood, college protests, marriage, and even his own birth. Then he disappeared into space. But her face have peace.

Second Group

One hour later, Dr. Neil called subjects 5–8.

Subject 5 died due to technical malfunction.

Subject 6’s body could not handle the pressure.

Subject 7 was sent to a parallel timeline where war was ongoing, and he died there.

Tube 8 – Rohit

Rohit had military experience. After his wife’s death, he had quit everything.he has a guilt to not save his wife.

First Attempt:

He traveled to the past, to the moment when a misunderstanding started a war. A child was accidentally given a real gun instead of a toy. Rohit stopped the child and took the gun away carefully. The powerful leader left safely. The war never started. A group wants the war and try every possible things to start war , there are tracked so they don't have any chances plan to attack something bigger after this.

The mysterious man grew angry.

Second Attempt:

Rohit went back to the day his wife died in a hospital attack. He called the hospital anonymously and warned them , he know his wife she was very careful in the security. She is the chief director and after knowing this warning she evacuated the hospital . Police were informed. The attackers were trapped and eliminated by military.

Rohit felt relieved.

The mysterious man, furious, ordered Dr. Neil to burn the lab. The staff obeyed as if hypnotized.

Rohit suddenly returned to the future. The mysterious man stood in front of him.

“You made a mistake,” he said. “Small changes don’t change the entire future. Your daughter grew up without her father.”

He shot Rohit.

After changing few small events of past , the past connects him to the lab , in that way , her superior was order him to stop the illegal experiment.

It was later revealed that Rohit’s department had secretly sent him as a subject to stop this illegal experiment. The lab exploded.
