Set in a post-apocalyptic world where the end has already started for Hawkins. The world has broken into four, the strong bonds of friendship are drifting apart, and William Byers is struggling to try and fix everything, especially himself. He can't accept the fact he likes his bestfriend, especially the fact his bestfriend is a boy too. And he blames himself for everything that happened. Hawkins and the rest of the world is now a dead, decaying husk of It's former wonder, and he puts himself entirely to blame. He and his few friends and some of the elders are all that's left living in Hawkins. The red sparks in the sky are a constant reminder to how miserable the Earth truly has become now. All of the world there is nothing but fear and chaos. In the Wheeler's house, where everyone now resides, he ultimately decides it's better to not put any more people in danger and just... run away. Try to fix this all himself. Atleast he won't be holding himself responsible for more deaths... But little does he know that his once bestfriend truly cares for him, more than he lets on, and he'll do literally anything to keep Will safe.
Everything is dying, everything. The Hawkins I grew up in is now a mere shadow of its former shape. There is nothing but misery and fear eating away at every corner. The sky is dark, red sparks flying every now and then that fills me with dread. There is no hope now for survival, is there?
This has to be the beginning of our ends.
And I can't do anthing about it. I'm useless, a pathetic stupid boy who can't save his friends.
