Story Notes

Set in post-apocalyptic Hawkins, let's see how well Will and Mike navigate the real world and their delicate feelings.

Summary

William Byers and Mike Wheeler stayed back in a desolate and ruined Hawkins while everyone else left. The world is in chaos. Will took it upon himself to end this madness, and Mike wouldn't let him be alone for this. Hand-in-hand, and with a lot of questions about each other in mind, they step back into the Upside Down for a final ending. But it didn't go as planned. Vecna somehow caught Will and entered his mind, capturing Will. Mike, now in grave danger but strongly determined to not leave Will alone, has to find a way to save himself and Will, and destroy the Upside Down and Vecna. What will happen when everything ends? When it's all quiet? Will they answer the questions? Will they confess their raging feelings? Only time and a fanfic can tell.

Last Spy (I)

Will and Mike were standing outside the Wheeler's house, looking out into the distance, where red sparks flew across the sky and the grass no longer remained green. No one else was there in the entire Hawkins, not another single soul. Not even Eleven or Hopper, or even Joyce. Everyone left, they were forced to. But these two remained.

Will was the one who had decided on staying back, do something to atleast delay Vecna's arrival perhaps. No one could change his mind. Eventually, when everyone else were about to leave, Mike also decided to stay. He couldn't leave his best friend alone, not when all he has been doing since Eleven became his girlfriend is ignore Will. How could he? Will needed him the most at that moment, and Mike would not leave his side anymore.

Now there only remained Michael Wheeler and William Byers in the entirety of Hawkins.

Will reached out for Mike's hand, but couldn't get the courage to hold onto his hand. Mike noticed, and his heart stuttered. His fingers twitched towards Will, but he too, out of awkwardness and a little fear, retracted his hand back to his side.

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
