Summary

This is the story of Suresh, a boy born into hardship in the village of Matori. He lost his mother at the tender age of four, and soon after, his father fell into alcohol addiction. Hoping to secure a future for his child, the father remarried, but the new family brought division instead of care. When Suresh was just fourteen, he lost his father as well. With no encouragement, support, or resources, he was forced to quit his education. His stepmother took her son and the family property and abandoned the house, leaving Suresh behind, despite him having elder sisters and a brother. Ignored by relatives and society, Suresh began working in a cycle shop to survive. Life was harsh, but he never gave up. At the age of twenty, he married Laxmi, a village girl who had also faced loss early in life, having lost her father and grown up as a strong, independent woman with an elder brother. She was married at just eighteen. With little money but strong values, Suresh and Laxmi started their life together in a small rented room. Though poor, they were rich in character, kindness, and mutual respect. They supported each other through every struggle, treating others with warmth and dignity. In time, their love was blessed with the birth of a baby boy, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their journey. To be continued…
