"I'm loving this book so far that I just had to write a review. The plot is compelling, the writing is great and amazingly visceral, you can see clearly what the author describes as if you were right there. I'm loving the mystery around the main character and can't wait to find out what his background and how he came to be where he is. Again, I haven't read that far, but I'm looking forward to doing so. Amazing story. Highly recommend."

Your descriptions are vivid without feeling excessive—I could almost picture the battlefield, the silence after the massacre, and the weight of every step the lone survivor took. I especially admired how you conveyed grief without relying on dialogue. The quiet act of burying the fallen soldier and placing the crest into the grave carried so much emotion. It tells us a great deal about the protagonist's character while leaving enough mystery to make me eager to learn more. This is a dark, compelling beginning that raises so many questions about the war, the people involved, and what lies ahead for this survivor.
