It was a hot and steaming summer day. Liz and April were having a sleepover. It was at April’s house because they had one at Liz’s a month ago. “I’m so excited!” April squealed as Liz opened her bag in her room. “Me too. Are you sure you have every thing we planned?” Liz looked up at April with her big blue eyes. April’s squeal turned into her usual, sweet tone. “You bet, Lizzie!”.
When Liz was done dumping all her stuff on the floor, the two girls went down the stairs into the living room. “I love how you live in a mansion, April! It’s so fun going up and down on the stairs.” Liz always made good compliments, and April felt twice as taller than usual. “You make the best compliments, Liz! C’mon, let’s go and make our cushion fort.”
April and Liz brought cushions from the sofa, April’s room, another sofa in April’s parent’s bedroom, and Liz’s favorite pillow. “Your pillow will be nice for the rug, maybe?” April asked carefully. She always wanted to sit on Liz’s favorite cushion, but she never let her even touch it. “A flag on the top will be good. And maybe your mother’s blanket for the rug?” As April thought. Liz would never give up her pillow. April frowned. “No way I’m gonna do that unless you use that pillow.” “Fine. No rug, then!” This is how the sleepover started. Will it successfully get to an end?
