The Way You Shivered When I Looked At You // JJK

Summary

He knows her habits, her secrets, the way her breath catches when she feels watched. She knows the thrill of being desired-of being seen too closely, too intimately. Told through two voices spiraling toward each other, this is a modern love story where obsession feels like devotion, fear tastes like longing, and desire refuses to stay innocent. Some loves don't ask permission. They simply take.

Introduction

HIS POV

I don't remember the first time I saw her.

I remember the first time she belonged to me.

It wasn't ownership in the crude way people imagine. It was quieter. More intimate. The moment I realized I could predict her-when she would slow down, when she would hesitate, when her pulse would betray her before her face ever did.

She thinks being watched means being hunted. She's wrong. Hunting is loud. Obvious. What I do is learn. I let her existence sink into me until I can feel her even when she's not there. Especially then.

I've memorized her fear. The way it sharpens her senses. The way it makes her beautiful. Fear makes people honest. It strips them down to instinct, to need.

She locks her doors at night.

I smile when I hear it click.

Not because I can't get in-but because she's thinking of me. Even if she doesn't know my name yet.

I am already inside her life.

Soon, she'll realize she invited me.

HER POV

I don't remember when the fear started.

I remember when it stopped feeling wrong.

There's a moment-late at night, always-when the silence presses too close. When the air feels occupied. I hold my breath without meaning to, waiting for something to happen.

Nothing ever does. And that's what scares me.

I check my phone. No notifications. Still, my skin tightens, as if I've been read too closely. As if someone knows what I'm thinking before I do. It makes me restless. It makes me ache in places I don't have words for.

I lock my door at night.

I listen after the click.

Part of me hopes-stupidly-that if someone were there, they'd finally reveal themselves. Step out of the shadows. Give shape to the thing that already feels real.

Whatever this is, it doesn't feel like danger anymore.

It feels like anticipation.
